I scheduled a last-minute silk press at WA Salon before an important interview. Although there were no appointments available online, I was told they could accommodate me and was encouraged to book. I also clearly communicated that I would not be available by phone during work hours due to my corporate job, and that was acknowledged. On the day of my appointment, I arrived 20 minutes early, checked in, and signed the consent form. I was not greeted or acknowledged for several minutes. While sitting in the salon, I received a call informing me that my appointment had been canceled because the stylist was sick. I completely understand that illness happens. However, I was disappointed that I was not notified before arriving, especially since my appointment had been confirmed. I received no email cancellation until 3:05pm my appointment was 3:15pm. I asked if another stylist could assist and was told no. I was then told the sick stylist could still come in to do my hair, which I declined. I was referred to another salon, but when that did not work out and I called back for further guidance, the responsibility was shifted onto me for not answering my phone earlier—despite previously explaining I would be unavailable during work hours. Trying to accommodate everyone is admirable, but when someone expresses they have an important career event, it’s important not to give false reassurance if there isn’t confirmed availability. In time-sensitive situations, proactive and respectful communication matters. The call ended while I was expressing my concerns, which felt dismissive and I called back 3 times and was sent to voicemail everytime . I later received a message attempting to repair the relationship, but it felt reactive rather than truly accountable. I want to be fair and say that others may have great experiences here. I’ve actually referred multiple people to this salon after seeing it on TikTok, and they’ve loved their results. Unfortunately, after having my own experience, I realized this salon does not align with my personal expectations. I will be looking for a different place moving forward. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and client handling for future customers.

Wow 5 min trim and wash and quick conditioner $80!!!! I already had a very short pixie cut wanted to trim and color, was required to use online services for consultation, which was $40 upfront for each service. Total of $80 there was only one hair tech and the appointment to choose with an appointment that was out for a 20 additional days. On day of appointment, I called in, advanced to find out with the consultation come with actual service services for the day. I was told yes, after consultation they’ll be able to take care of my services. En route to my appointment my phone alerted that my appointment has been changed to two hours prior than the actual scheduled appointment while I was in route which is 40 minutes from my home. I wasn’t sure if they were trying to cancel and say I did not make my appointment in time, though my appointment was not scheduled for later that day. Once entering the building, I was told to sign in and seen my appointment was still at the proper time. The receptionist was not very friendly. I used the bathroom returned to find out the receptionist was my hairdresser. The consultation of what I needed it took approximately five minutes to explain. At that point, the hairdresser was gonna send me home after five minutes and collecting $80 upfront. I insisted something must be done. I didn’t come this far for nothing. The manager, possibly owner overheard the conversation and had to tell the hairdresser to. She had plenty of time to provide service services. For the preplanned hair cut, she was not prepared with proper equipment. I had to borrow from a different hairdresser outside of the building and which I had to wait for that hairdresser to bring equipment for my five minute haircut. I was told I could not get my hair colored because she had another appointment right after me and there was no time. I admit, I was frustrated and confused by very little service and time on my requested service. I will say the atmosphere of the salon is absolutely beautiful with a full bar that I noticed and asked how much would it cost me to have a beverage? I had already been waiting and sitting for the equipment that was needed to cut my short hair. I was disappointed to find out that a beverage was complementary and should’ve been offered immediately. I cannot say that I get a friendly welcome or that my beverage was even going to be made quickly. I still had to wait. It was almost as though they did not want to offer of the complementary service to me the paying customer, but immediately offered my ride a beverage upon entering the building. My hairdresser at some point mentioned that I can have my hair colored at a different salon that she works at. I didn’t get the impression that this hairdresser was eager to work at this location or wanted clients at this location. As she explained that she’s really never there and refers people to the other salon. My haircut was mediocre once home the next day my daughter had to continue to trim, and fix my hair as it was cut crooked in some places and I had to colored my hair at home. I had no other option as I was traveling the next day. My hairdresser was not professional but 3 stars for the atmosphere!

My silk press was awesome, it came out silky smooth and bouncy. My stylist Anitra was very clear about how much needed to be trimmed and only cut what she said she would. I also really appreciated the complimentary drinks. Only thing I wish felt more luxurious was the shampoo - it was nice, but I love getting a good scalp scrub during the washing at a salon and I didn't really get that this time. Having said that, she was super gentle with my hair. Overall I'm very happy, and my hair has held up really well and feels healthy.

I’ve been coming to this Salon for about a year for silk presses every 3 weeks with Oye. The service is always fast and my hair looks great every time. Despite the back to back silk presses, Oye has maintained my curl pattern with no heat damage and that’s what keeps me coming back.
