  My daughter got her first piercing done here by Carolyn. She was so kind, patient and attentive, even when kiddo got really upset before the second piercing! The whole staff in general was incredibly kind, considerate, and gentle with kiddo. Wonderful experience!

  Paid 220 for an earring and within the first two years, it is showing signs that are not normal. Reached out to the company and they did nothing to make it right

  I took my daughter to Rowan Piercing this past Monday because she wanted her ears pierced by a nurse rather than a professional piercer, and the actual piercing experience itself was lovely. The nurse was gentle, kind, and great with my daughter. Unfortunately, everything fell apart at checkout, and I feel other parents deserve a heads-up. At no point before or during the appointment were we told any pricing details. Not for the piercing method, not for the earrings, nothing. We chose needle piercing because I’ve always been told piercing guns cause tissue damage. Only after the procedure did the nurse mention that the device Rowan uses isn’t a gun and doesn’t cause that kind of harm. (Which I'm not sure I believe either...) That’s important information that should have been disclosed before asking a parent to make a choice, right? The biggest issue, though, was the earring pricing. The earrings my daughter chose were displayed and priced in a way that made it look like they were sold as a pair. There was absolutely no signage indicating that the price listed, $98(!) was per single earring. The nurse watched my daughter choose earrings for her very obvious two ears, never said a word about per-ear pricing, and then rang me up for nearly double what any reasonable parent would expect. When I was shocked by the total, the associate acted dismissive and asked if I “had a coupon code.” As if some non-existent 10% off code would help the 200% pricetag we were dealing with caused by the lack of pricing transparency and the way information was withheld until the moment payment was due. Since sharing my experience privately with a few mom friends, at least one has already decided not to use Rowan for her daughter’s piercing. I genuinely want companies that serve kids and families to be transparent, clear, and ethical in their pricing. Rowan is not. I would caution other parents to ask very specific questions about pricing before consenting to anything and to be aware that signage is misleading and earrings are priced individually even when displayed as pairs. Or, find your toughest looking local tattoo/piercing artist, because I bet they're a lot more honest than Rowan.
