I’m a Rouge member at Sephora, so I’m there a lot and I know how things usually work. I went in today looking for a new foundation and wanted to try a few samples before spending $70-$80 on one. I asked an employee for a sample, and she asked for my phone number. I’ve never been asked that just for a sample, but whatever, I gave it. She confirmed my name and prepared the two Patrick Ta shades I wanted. After that, I tried a Haus Labs shade and liked it, so when another employee came up to me asking if I needed help, I asked if I could get a sample of that one too. She cut me off at the word “sample” and said, “We don’t do samples during the holidays.” I was honestly shocked because… I had literally just gotten samples minutes earlier. I just said “ok” and kept browsing, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Then I got home and opened the samples I did receive, and there was barely even a pump of foundation in them. Definitely not enough for a full face, not even enough to properly test it. I’ve never had Sephora give samples like that before. I’ve been a Sephora girlie for YEARS, and I’ve never been told they stop giving samples during the holidays, and I’ve never gotten samples this tiny. A foundation sample should have enough product to actually try it out before spending that much money. Overall, the whole experience was just ridiculous and super disappointing.

Whenever I ask about offers or samples, she either says she doesn’t know or claims they’re out of stock. It feels like she’s doing a favor instead of serving customers. Very unprofessional attitude and disappointing experience. I will think twice before going again.
