- SLSavannah LynnMar 22, 20262.0I’ve never had a problem with great clips when it comes to my hair however I brought my 2 year old son in for his FIRST haircut and I left upset and regretting it. I don’t want to make anyone feel bad because I know we all have to start somewhere to gain experience however I don’t like my son being the guinea pig to practice on. The girl that was chosen to do my son’s hair was very nervous the entire time which should have told me to get someone else but I decided to trust her. I don’t know if she was fresh out of school or just didn’t have experience with cutting children’s hair. My son has very curly “mixed” hair and I just wanted the sides and back shaved down a little bit with the top left long (I included the picture of what I wanted for reference). We left with his head just short of butchered. I will not be bringing him back - we will be going to a barber shop from now on with people that are familiar with his hair type. But his hair is now completely uneven. I also don’t know what she was doing with the sides above his ears. It was cut way too far up and the sides are not even and neither is the back. I didn’t complain while I was there because again I don’t like to make anyone feel bad and I could tell she was nervous the entire time. She even asked for help a few times from another stylist but it was too late to fix at that point. Going forward if you are not comfortable or don’t have the experience to give someone what they’re looking for please just be honest and say that instead of getting someone in your chair. I would have gladly waited for another stylist to become available that knew what they were doing rather than having my son walk around like this until it grows out long enough to get fixed by someone else. At the end of the day I know it’s hair and it will grow back but I’m still upset. I just want to cry when I look at it.

When is Online Check-In available?
Online Check-In becomes available five minutes after the salon opens. We accept Online Check-Ins up to the point where the estimated wait time is as long as the salon will remain open, or 30 minutes before closing time at the latest.
Can I use Online Check-In for all types of services?
Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call your local Great Clips salon to inquire.
Can I request a stylist using Online Check-In?
No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
