- JJJadaDec 24, 20252.0Went to purchase last minute gifts and ended up leaving with a cologne. Within about 20 minutes from the time I left, my husband called to tell me that the cologne wouldn’t work due to an allergy to alcohol I wasn’t aware of. I turned around immediately and went back. When I got back, this is when I was told about the final sale policy. She moved a counter display over a bit to show a tiny little paper disclosure in very small text on the counter but of course, I wasn’t told this before checking out. I don’t think most people assume a store like this would have a final sale policy on an unopened sealed box of cologne. She also mentioned that the policy was on the receipt, unfortunately I don’t have the ability to see the future so I had no way to visualize what the bottom of my receipt would say. Unless you know for certain that the people you’re shopping for will want the item you’re buying, you may want to consider another retailer.
