On Jan 2
while on my way to L Occitane Pointe Claire, I had checked
and there were bad reviews, so I was concerned.
pleasant surprise, I had a great experience. When I arrived, I saw there was 1 employee and at least 6 people around the counter.
I thought I would be there for a while however after 2 mins the employee by the name of Eunice asked if she could help me.
She was pleasant with a wonderful smile, she rang up my order and I thanked her and told her about the bad reviews of one of her co workers. I said my experience was great and it was thanks to her. I hope when anyone shops there that you are lucky to be served by Eunice.

Terrible Customer Service & Made-Up “Policy” – CF Mall L’OCCITANE Counter
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at the L’OCCITANE location at CF Mall (this is not a full store—more like a small counter).
Today, the counter was very busy and there was only one staff member serving customers, so I waited in line for about 30 minutes. Eventually, a manager-looking older lady (around 60ish) started assisting me.
I explained very clearly that I wanted to purchase 7 gift sets (4 large boxes + 3 small boxes) and that I wanted to customize them by choosing my own products to place inside.
She immediately refused and told me they “don’t have that policy,” and that gift boxes can only be purchased as the pre-made sets they already have.
I asked, “Since when?” because I’ve been a loyal L’OCCITANE customer for over 10 years, spending thousands every year on gifts, and I have always been able to customize gift boxes this way. In fact, just a few days ago at the same location, a younger staff member helped me customize a gift box exactly like I was requesting.
The manager insisted it was “impossible” and demanded I show a receipt. I did. Only then did she change her story and claimed:
large gift boxes can be customized, but small gift boxes cannot.
That explanation made no sense and felt like a complete excuse. It honestly sounded like she was making up rules on the spot—and that is unacceptable. If the real reason was simply: “It’s Christmas season and we don’t have enough small boxes available”—I would have understood and accepted that. But I do not accept being lied to with a fake “policy,” especially as a loyal customer.
She even said she has worked there for 16 years and “wouldn’t lie,” yet the contradictions were obvious.
To confirm, I drove straight to the Royalmount L’OCCITANE right after. They immediately provided 7 boxes and let me customize all of them with the products I chose—no hesitation, no “policy,” no argument. When I told the Royalmount staff what happened at CF Mall, they said that manager was completely wrong and that they’ve never had such a policy.
This kind of behavior—especially from a manager—should be taken seriously. A long-time employee should respect customers, not mislead them with imaginary policies to avoid doing their job.
I don’t know her name, but I’m referring to the CF Mall L’OCCITANE manager (older lady, around 60ish). If the management team wants to investigate, I’m happy to cooperate and provide receipts and any details needed.
Avoid this location if you want honest service.

Very rude and unpleasant lady working at L’Occitane in Fairview Pointe Claire. We had bought a gift and wanted to return a few items purchased. I’ve never in my life been asked to return an item AND THE MINI SAMPLES GIVEN FOR FREE from ALL OF THE PURCHASE. This is very cheap from l’Occitane, will not go back there and would never recommend!
