Go here if you'd like a cheap haircut that looks and feels cheap. My stylist was nice and personable. But I've been to maybe 10 barber shops in the north hills and this was the second-worst cut I've ever received. Just a lack of professional skill. Told her to cut the length just short enough so it doesn't spike up; it now spikes up all over the place. Asked her to thin a particular spot that gets poofy a few weeks after a cut; she thinned the entire top of my head, such that it now looks like I'm balding in a few places. Had no feel for tapering. Fault is probably mine for going anywhere that offers discount coupons for a service like this, but I think this fairly describes what you'll get: minimum-wage level skill. One thing I did like was the online queue check-in, so you can minimize your waiting once you get there, I wish more places had that. And they were open on New Years Eve afternoon, which I can't say about most places. But I won't be going back.

Pretty consistently get a good hair cut here for a fair price. Had only one bad one, today, but they have enough stylist where you can always avoid one you don't vibe with.

This past Sunday morning I got a haircut, kind of, at the Great Clips on Mt. Nebo. It was more like an ambush than a haircut. The sylist hated me before I ever sat down or said a word. I could feel it - and she spent the entire haircut making sure I knew it. A previous review by Nicholas from about a week ago describes almost the exact experience with the same stylist. My experience had the added bonus of my being confronted directly and insulted in front of all the people sitting in the waiting area. I’m an easy-going person. I don’t even require a good haircut. I’ve gotten plenty of lousy haircuts over the years. That doesn’t bother me. I did nothing to provoke or deserve the hostility and disrespect that was thrown at me. I barely said a word, certainly nothing personal. I’ve been coming to Mt Nebo for years. The manager is great, several of the stylists are great. I don’t need a good haircut but I do need to know that when I go for a haircut I’m not going to be harassed and demeaned, out of the blue, through no provocation on my part. I agree with the previous review that you can judge a whole business by the behavior of one person. In this case the person is the owner. The owner does the hiring. The owner handles customer complaints, though I’ve heard nothing from the owner. You knew a problem existed. You knew that this could happen at any time. You had a review detailing the same behavior earlier in the same week. Yet, here she was, waiting for me. I don’t harbor a lot of ill-will toward the stylist. I doubt she’s got a lot of insight into her behavior or the cause of her behavior. Whether she stays or leaves makes no difference to me. I won't be coming back, and I don't intend to be responsible for anyone’s firing. This problem goes higher. And it goes way beyond being short-staffed. If you cannot provide a service where people can expect to get a simple haircut without running into a hostile situation, then you shouldn’t be running a small business/franchise.
