I visited the Sephora Rittenhouse location on 1/2. I worked with Tiffany who helped with my foundation match. I purchased the Dior foundation, which I found delightful in my makeup collection. I found the experience with Tiffany to be incredibly warm, as we laughed about foundation oxidizing and finding lash techs in PHL. I am happy to say I went home with an excellent shopping experience, and new lash techs to try in PHL.

I usually shop at Sephora online, but after Solidcore I remembered I needed more primer, so I stopped into this location. I’m not sure if it was because I looked a bit raggedy after my workout or because of assumptions the employee may have made about me, but I genuinely felt like I was being rushed out of the store.
I was on the phone with my boyfriend when I noticed an employee not-so-subtly following me around. She asked if I needed help twice, and I said no both times since I was clearly on the phone. She continued hovering, so I hung up and started asking her questions since she clearly wanted to “help” me so badly.
I asked for a primer, told her I had oily skin, and she somehow recommended an $80 moisturizer—which didn’t make much sense. When I tried to put it back, she insisted on checking me out. I told her I didn’t want the moisturizer, and instead of simply letting me continue shopping, she took it back and kept insisting on checking me out. It was uncomfortable, especially because I actually wanted to browse and buy more things.
She kept pushing to check me out, and when I walked toward the register she even asked where I was going—as if that’s not where customers get checked out. She ultimately rang me up with a mobile POS device at the front of the store, rushing me for no clear reason, especially considering it was only 11 a.m. (And even though I don’t usually shop in-store, I have never been checked out on a phone in the front of the store.)
As someone with Rouge status, I think I’ll stick to BOPUS or online shopping rather than visiting this location again.

With rare exceptions, most employees usually treat me as if they didn’t want me there. Don’t know if this is because I look younger than I actually am and they think I don’t have enough money. This is why I rather order online.
