    I want to start off by saying the staff at this location were very helpful. This review is for the customer service, NOT the downtown Portland store. I went to the downtown store in late December and purchased over $550 in cosmetics. Because it was a sizable purchase, I wanted to open a Sephora credit card to get a 25% discount. The sales person ran my credit report and it was denied. At that point, I realized I needed to remove the credit freeze I had put on my account with all 3 credit agencies. It was closing time and I told the customer service person they had me talk with that I would take care of this the next day. I bought the cosmetics on a different VISA with the intent to return them, and buy them with my new Sephora card and get the discount. I removed the credit freezes the next day, and went to a different store. Same result. The customer service person told me I had to wait 7-10 days for an answer from Sephora. I didn't understand this since I no longer had a credit freeze on my accounts with the credit agencies and I have an exceptional credit score (800+). I left the store very frustrated to say the least. I waited for my letter from Sephora saying I needed to contact 4 credit agencies to ensure my credit did not have a "freeze" on it. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the 4 credit agencies and was assured I no longer had a credit freeze. I then called the Sephora customer service number on the letter and was told I couldn't apply for another card for 30 days from the date of the letter! So, I just ensured my credit was no longer frozen and I was supposed to leave it that way for 30 days??? I was told I had to wait 30 days since I decided against a card. I didn't decide against a card, I wasn't allowed to open one since my credit was intentionally frozen to protect against someone wrongly trying to access my credit. Sephora customer service should be better trained on the process, and should have told me I couldn't apply again for 30 days. If I had known this, I wouldn't have spent so much time removing my credit freezes only to have top put them back on an hour later. Needless to say, I will not be trying to open up a Sephora credit card, nor will I be too interested in making future purchases at Sephora. There are many other places to get cosmetics, who have better trained customer service staff.

    My favorite thing about this store is the staff. Especially the MUA who gave me a phenomenal eye look and complementing complexion/lip. I didn't ask yet if I can share her name on a review, but I will update with it if she agrees. The other great aspect of this store for me is the location. No trekking to suburbia for Ulta, nothing against that establishment (except how far it is). This smaller store still has an amazing selection, too. Check out their site for fun in-store events. Basically, if you have a bad time here, that might be a you thing.

    friendly staff, very knowledgeable. great selection. wish they had somewhere to put down bags and sit down when trying on makeup. they had a row of seats with mirrors but they were roped off. felt like a miss, kept me from trying and buying more things.

    The Sephora in Down Town Portland is one of my faves to go to. While it is a smaller location than your traditional big box mall stores, they are well staffed and well stocked. The staff in that store is WONDERFUL! They are all so kind and helpful. We went to see an esthetician for a make-up consult and, I am sorry to say we could not remember her name, but she was awesome! She was so patient in teaching my partner all the ins and outs of how to achieve the makeup look she wanted. My partner walked out so happy and she bought almost all of the product used, of her own accord, with no pressure from the esthetician. We love Sephora and if you are ever in down tow Portland check this location out. The staff is worth the stop in alone.

    Doesn't seem very friendly. Every time I visit, no one speaks to me or offers me help. Too bad there isn't an Ulta downtown.
