I had a wonderful experience at Diptyque today. Jeremy was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about fragrance. He took the time to understand what I was looking for, guided me thoughtfully, and made the entire experience feel personal rather than rushed.
On top of that, he was incredibly generous with samples, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and warm at the same time, and Jeremy delivered exactly that. This visit made the purchase even more special. I had THE BEST customer experience ever at this Diptyque with Shania who accompanied me through choosing and purchasing a perfume and then sending it Quebec City where I live. She made the whole process so smooth and would even check in with me to update me on the shipping status. Finally, I received my package today with a hand written note from her and plenty of samples and goodies. This was my first and will definitely not be my last experience here.

I had a wonderful experience at Diptyque. From the moment I walked in, the store felt calm, elegant, and very well organized. The overall atmosphere made browsing enjoyable rather than rushed.
Peal provided exceptional service throughout my visit. She was warm, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the products. Peal took the time to understand my preferences, patiently explained the differences between various fragrances, and offered thoughtful recommendations without any pressure to purchase. Her approach felt genuine and professional, which I really appreciated.
The store presentation was beautiful, and the products were displayed in a clean and refined way. Packaging was handled carefully, with great attention to detail, adding to the overall experience. Entitled & snobby staff members, laughing at customers and speaking in their own language!
I’ve been a long term customer at Diptyque which is why I’ve been truly disappointed by the behaviours of the staff at the Yorkdale location. Upon entering, as a customer you experience a rather unwelcoming and hostile atmosphere. It appeared to me like they assumed I was there to look around and not purchase anything. When I asked a question the staff members began speaking in their own native language and laughing around, almost as though they’re laughing at the customer. Not recognizing I’m a returning customer with genuine curiosity about the products. Strange that the staff appear so entitled considering customers and clientele are what keep any business running. After reading the other reviews, it appears this is a reoccurring issue at this location with rude and snobby staff.
Nevertheless, I’ve had a much more pleasant experience shopping at the Sherway Gardens & Yorkville locations (the reviews speak for themselves). I’d highly encourage the Yorkdale location to take these matters seriously and train their staff to begin treating customers with kindness and dignity.

I had a very disappointing in-store experience at Diptyque today, which ultimately led me to walk away without completing my purchase.
I selected a perfume, but when it was presented to me, it was a bare bottle with no original packaging or outer box at all. Given that it is the holiday season and the store was offering gift wrapping services, I reasonably asked whether this was standard practice and whether the item was new.
Unfortunately, instead of receiving a clear and professional explanation, the sales associate who assisted me — a Mandarin-speaking Chinese woman with long black hair — responded in a dismissive and confrontational manner. I was repeatedly told “this is how it is,” without any effort to address my concerns as a customer.
What made the interaction particularly uncomfortable was being questioned about my “budget” in a way that felt unnecessary and condescending, especially when I was already in the process of making a purchase. Rather than feeling supported or respected, I felt as though I was being challenged or judged.
Diptyque is a brand known for its craftsmanship and refined customer experience, and this interaction fell far below those expectations. Customer service is a crucial part of a luxury brand’s reputation, and encounters like this can significantly undermine customer trust and brand image.
I am sharing this feedback in the hope that store management and the brand team will review service standards and provide better training, so future customers receive the respectful, transparent, and professional experience that Diptyque represents.
