I showed the stylist—a young man with short dark hair who mentioned he used to have long hair—a photo clearly labeled as a wolf cut and explained exactly what I wanted. He said "okay," and I trusted that he understood. Halfway through the cut, another stylist mentioned giving her daughter a wolf cut to her client. I excitedly told him, “That’s what I’m doing!” He looked confused and said, “What?” I repeated, “I’m getting a wolf cut,” and he replied, “Uh, yeah… not really. Kind of.” I didn’t know what to say at that point. I had shown him a clear reference and communicated my expectations—so that response left me confused and disappointed. The haircut I got isn’t terrible, but it’s not what I asked for. It’s just a heavily layered cut—not a true wolf cut. After leaving, I ended up going to another Great Clips in Kettering, where I explained the situation. The stylist there was incredibly kind, apologized, and confirmed that what I received was not a wolf cut. I’m not writing this to get anyone in trouble, but to give honest feedback. If a stylist isn’t confident in doing a specific cut, that’s okay—just say so. I would’ve appreciated more communication and honesty before we started, especially when I brought in a labeled reference photo. This is my hair—something personal and important to me.
