Great services & selection of products! The staff is very skilled and knowledgeable. I would buy here often since I worked in the area. It would not get as crowded as other locations.

Today I went to Sephora and purchased an Armani foundation and a concealer. I paid $114. Unfortunately, what stayed with me was not the purchase itself, but the attitude of the sales associate, which deeply upset me. I had a very long and somewhat unpleasant day, and I came into the store simply to do something kind — to buy a gift for my sister and make myself feel a little better. I explained that I was looking for a foundation for my sister but didn’t know her shade. I texted her and mentioned that she might be asleep. At one point, I misunderstood the associate and showed a photo of my sister on my own. Her response was rather rude: “You don’t look alike.” In that moment, I unexpectedly found myself apologizing, even though I had done nothing wrong. I then called my sister to confirm her shade and, while on the phone, told her that I had a long and exhausting day. The associate overheard this and quietly but coldly replied: “We had a long day too.” I later asked how much time remained before closing, as I had entered the store close to closing time, although there were still other customers inside. She replied: “Eight minutes.” Eventually, she handed me the foundation, and I completed my purchase. She asked whether I needed a receipt, and I said no, as I live in Chelsea and the store is just a few blocks from my home. I have always spoken proudly about this Sephora location as one of the best near us. Today, however, was the first time I truly felt disappointed. I left the store more upset than when I walked in 😭

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Last-Minute Cancellation of Sweet Sixteen Makeup Appointments I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding the last-minute cancellation of three scheduled makeup appointments at your Sephora meat packing District location on 01/18/2026. These appointments, booked for 11:00 AM, 12:15PM, and 2:15 PM, were crucial for myself, my mother, and my daughter in preparation for my daughter's Sweet Sixteen celebration. To be informed just one hour before our first appointment that all three services could not be honored due to a staff illness is completely unacceptable and caused significant distress on such an important day. The abrupt notification left us with virtually no time to make alternative arrangements. While I appreciate that an attempt was made to secure an appointment for my daughter at your Times Square location, this still left my mother and me without the services we had booked and relied upon. This partial resolution did not address the full scope of the inconvenience, as it was impossible for us to find last-minute professional makeup services elsewhere for such a special occasion. The lack of contingency planning for staff absences, especially for pre-booked appointments, is deeply concerning. This situation created unnecessary stress and significantly impacted what should have been a joyful and memorable day for my daughter's Sweet Sixteen. We had planned our entire day around these appointments, and the sudden cancellation disrupted our schedule and our ability to prepare properly. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and consider the profound inconvenience and disappointment your store’s actions caused. I look forward to your prompt response and a suitable resolution to this complaint.

I will communicate with corporate but my blackness does not equate with crime. I walked into the store, immediately having five people following me. I was in a Lululemon jacket and Aritzia pants (so I’m assuming this is not by the basis of how I dressed). I just bought from the hudson yards location even though it was a walk, but if you’re going to enforce Jim Crow laws in your workplace please put a sign.

On Monday January 12, I came to this location to get my makeup done. All the workers were super friendly. I booked full face makeup service. My makeup was done by Fernicy. I left disappointed and baffled by the service I received. She was very sweet, nice and professional with me the whole time. But she lacks some basic product and application techniques knowledge to be doing makeovers. I asked to use powder foundation on me and only concealer under the eyes, simple smoky eye, no lip, natural brows, contour, blush and hydrating setting spray, and that my eyelids are oily and i need my eye makeup to stay on. When she started application I noticed that she looked unsure of what she doing, It was weird, and then she told me it was her first time using powder foundation. So i basically had to tell her how to apply powder foundation. Then she started applying cream concealer on top of a powder foundation and it created a mess, I had to grab a brush and fix it my self. I was shocked, I'm not a pro, but even I know that you not supposed to apply cream or liquid products on top of powders. Then she applied blush in two blobs of color on my cheeks, I had to grab the brush myself again and fix it. For brows she used brow pen and instead of drawing hair like strokes she just filled them in with the pen. And at the end she couldn't understand the difference between hydrating setting spray and long-wear setting spray. And my eye makeup started creasing after 2 hours. I thought I was coming to get my makeup done by professional and wanted to relax, but instead I had to be anxious if she going to mess it up. And I paid $60 for that, which makes me so sad, because it was not worth it at all, but I didn't have time to dispute it. She is very nice, but needs a lot more training before she does people's makeup for money.
