We can't wait to see you!
Today I was helped by a female employee to check out using one of their handheld devices. (1) She asked whether I had a phone number with them. I’m not a frequent shopper at Sephora, but I do have an online account, and I wasn’t sure if I had a number on file. I paused like a millisecond to think before giving it, and she became visibly annoyed. I could see it. I could feel it. (2) When I did give her my number, she got annoyed again and acted as if she couldn’t understand me like I were speaking a foreign language. (3) While I’m usually tech-savvy, when Face ID failed for Apple Pay, I had to enter my password twice, which seemed to bother her even further. Her attitude was unprofessional, dismissive, making what should be a routine checkout uncomfortable and discriminatory.

I went to Sephora to buy some basic skincare products. I was on my period and feeling very unwell, experiencing temperature fluctuations and fatigue. Unfortunately, the cashier, a blonde woman with curly hair, was unfriendly and provided terrible service, not even telling me where she would send the receipt! Basic customer service was completely lacking! I do not recommend this store! It's much better to order online from the official store.

I would like to start off by saying be careful purchasing fragrances here. Make sure you open the fragrance in store and that it’s not half empty.
I purchased a perfume for my sister as a gift, and when she opened it, the bottle was half empty. Obviously embarrassed, I told my sister, “Don’t worry, I will exchange it.”
I went back to the SoHo store (where I purchased) looking to exchange it because we got a purchase of a defective product.
Instead of giving me the opportunity to hear me out, the manager, Nijia H., was completely dismissive and condescending, blaming me. When I received the product like this. Giving me no type of positive intent. She was really rude, and you can tell she did not care. She told me she couldn’t help me, but these were my two options: call customer service (they don’t have access to in-store purchases) or dispute my charge with my bank. With all due respect, what type of professional option is that?
I work in customer service and positive intent is a big thing because things like this can happen especially during the holidays. It leaves me with a sour taste because I love Sephora I have been a rouge for many years but lately the service has been questionable.
The Sephora store at SoHo was one of my favorites, but lately, the customer service has declined drastically. There’s always a long line, the workers are a bit rude, and management is condescending and unprofessional. I would go to other Sephora’s in the city.

Had the most amazing experience with Halle at the Soho store. I have anxiety and she recognized this immediately and kindly asked me how she could help. She gathered my items for me and checked me out quickly and with no stress. What was a really bad morning for me turned just a little better because of her. All retail employees should be this kind! Thank you Halle! You are awesome!

SEPHORA SOHO is an experience on to itself. How many places can you go to for makeup where tour buses pull up letting off tourists who flood in to the already busy store which is what your experience is here. The tourists descend the bus stairs to dash across the sidewalk in to the Sephora store. Smell are every where- sweet, pungent, wild and fruity. The air is punched with music run by two DJ's mid store. It's quite the party replete with lots and lots and lots of makeup brands you will find in every Sephora store, the difference being- this is Soho in the belly of the beauty hub of the world. Even if you dont want to buy anything or want to be new makeup to update your look, you go here. The selfies are priceless... I went to two adults aged eight and ten.... older than me. The staff were friendly, amazing even funny and patient with the kiddos. They know which side of their bread to butter. These girls are their future customers. To watch them purse lips, try testers and pose like they are twenty? Best day ever
