    Disappointing Exchange Policy for Loyal Customers Visited the Sephora on 34th Street in New York on January 3, 2026 at 6:05 PM, and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I purchased the Laura Mercier Original powder during a sale and wanted to exchange it for the Ultra Blurring version. Even though it was a very similar product from the same brand, I was told I would need to pay full price for the exchange because my original purchase was discounted. As a loyal Sephora customer who shops there frequently and rarely makes exchanges, this felt unfair and disappointing. I usually have great experiences with Sephora, so I wanted to share this feedback in hopes that the exchange policy can be applied more consistently or explained more clearly in the future.

    I have been going to this place for years since they have more stock than other sephora stores. I do not know what happened to this place but the staff are rude! No one wants to help and kept me and another woman waiting for assistance. I had to go around and ask for someone who can open the bottom drawer for a foundation shade. Even the cashier acted like she did not want to be there.

    I am honestly shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff was. I understand that tourist seasons can be exhausting, but the level of disrespect and indifference I experienced is simply unacceptable. I was at the checkout with approximately $500 worth of purchases, and I was met with no smile, no basic courtesy, nothing not even the minimal politeness you would expect in a customer-facing role. No greeting, half-muttered responses, eyes constantly looking down, and an overall attitude that made it very clear I was a nuisance rather than a customer. What makes this even more absurd is that I usually leave sephora with at least one sample, even when buying far fewer items. This time, despite a substantial purchase, not a single sample was offered — not even one. It perfectly reflects the lack of care and basic commercial sense displayed throughout the interaction. The cashier ( the one wearing heavy makeup with clearly over-lined lips) was particularly unpleasant. She kept whispering to her colleague while I was standing right there, which is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. Whether it was about me or not, the behavior alone speaks volumes. I have never experienced anything like this. If dealing with customers is such a burden, perhaps this is not the right job. Basic manners cost nothing, yet here they were completely absent. Absolutely disappointing.

    The beauty associate with the black and RED hair was nothing but RUDE. She was standing in the middle of the floor talking to the Asian beauty associate, and I asked them to help me pick a blush from Charlotte Tillbury, and she gave me the nastiest look, and told me no. I continued to shop on my own, and went I went to check out at the register, she was helping people to pay faster, but with an horrible attitude. I’ve never left a store faster than this one.
