  I had such a great experience getting my piercing done here. The piercer (Genesis helped me) was super professional, gentle, and made me feel really comfortable the whole time. Everything was clean and well explained, and the piercing turned out perfect. I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend this place!

  Extremely disappointed, paid for an expensive earring for my new cartilage piercing and it was placed incorrectly, fell out and subsequently got lost. Flat backs aren't supposed to come out that easily. Now my piercing has closed and my star earring is in the dust.

  This is an expensive place. In addition to the ear-piercing fee, you are required to purchase their earrings, with prices starting at $68. I got my piercing here last year, which was already very costly (over $250 including the studs). One ear later closed due to an infection, so I returned to have it re-pierced. Instead of helping me reuse the studs I had already purchased from them, they insisted that I buy another one. They claimed the original jewelry needed to be sanitized, but that could have been done very easily either by myself or in the store. It felt more like an upselling tactic than a genuine safety concern. The pricing is excessive, and the pressure to repurchase overpriced jewelry I already own is unreasonable.

  Discrimination, terrible customer service, and high costs- I had an appointment scheduled for 6:00 PM today. When I arrived, the store was crowded and after I checked in (the fondest girl gave a weird look after I showed my Chinese passport). was told to wait. No one spoke to me further. About 10 minutes later, I came back to the counter. At that point, the store was empty. The receptionist, Melissa, told me to wait again while she continued working on her computer. Then a white customer walked in with no appointment. Melissa immediately greeted her, asked if she had an appointment, and when the customer said no, Melissa told her she could book an appointment on the spot now. After overhearing this, I spoke up and explained that I already had a 6:00 PM appointment and had been waiting the entire time. Despite this, I was told to continue waiting. Shortly after, another staff member, Benesis, told me that I had “missed” my appointment and pushed me to a 7:15 PM slot, while the walk-in customer with no appointment was taken in. The white customer even heard this and offered she can do 7:15pm appointment and the nurse said it’s find they will take her now. The inconsistent treatment was extremely uncomfortable and felt discriminatory. At the very least, it was unprofessional and poorly managed. I would not recommend this location and will not be returning. And the end of day I just walked to Claire’s a couple of stores away where they greeted me and took me right away and the overall experience much more pleasant there and easy. And they charged free for piercing and no additional cost for the cleaning agent.

  I hope you will read this entire review to understand its significance. I previously gave another Rowan a 1 star review, and would have given it less if there was such a thing. The location at Roosevelt Field is getting five starts here, but deserves so much more. I expect professionalism whenever I am a customer, but this location went above and beyond. I was greeted and checked in by Kate, the manager. WONDERFUL. The nurse that explained the procedue to my daughter and marked her ears was Diana. BEYOND WONDERFUL. She made this a special event for my daughter. I regret that I lost one name in this. A second nurse came in so both ears could be pierced at the same time. I would like to thank her as well, sorry for not getting your name. THIS is the experience every parent wants for their child. Beyond professional, they were engaging, personable, upbeat, friendly and especially prepared to deal with children. HUGE THANKS. I went here skeptical, I had had a horrible experience in the other location. This location, Roosevelt Field Mall I would STRONGLY recommend to anyone wanting to get their child's ears pierced.
