  I am trying to switch over to more clean beauty products and walked in after doing some research on my own, but hoping to get more advice in store. I was lucky enough to be greeted by Ebony, who was so kind and helped me find a whole new array of products to use. She was very patient, answered my questions thoughtfully, and helped me find products that fit perfectly for my skin tone and general needs.

  I recently booked a 75 minute learning session for $75 at Sephora (plus tip) for my tween daughter who is into and learning about makeup. Learning sessions were available in MANY Sephora locations unlike Ulta which only had it at a location in NJ and downtown NYC. Natalia, a licensed makeup artist, asked my daughter and I what we were looking to accomplish, as well as find out from my daughter what she feels are her strongest and least strongest attributes. I also brought up some contact allergies she had and Natalia took her time to collect products to use for this session and didn't mind me checking the ingredients list. She took her time explaining and demonstrating on half my daughter's face as my daughter practiced what she was learning on the other. Once she was done, the MUA recommended only the products that she used and compared it to what products my daughter already had at home. There was no pressure to buy their products at all. Overall a very good experience and would go back again if she wants to learn more techniques.

  There’s a sales representative named Jackline, and her service was completely unacceptable. I went in to return a few items, but instead of processing the return, she somehow made me purchase them again — which is absurd. In my 10 years of shopping, nothing like this has ever happened. I clearly told her I was there for a return. She scanned my account and asked me to tap my card, so I did. Then she simply handed me the bag. After that, she processed the refund twice, and the whole thing felt very off. Now I have to wait 3–5 days for my money, and a few hundred dollars are stuck for absolutely no reason.

  I came in for an online pickup and stood there while multiple employees walked right past me without acknowledging me. No greeting, no “I’ll be right with you,” nothing. The attitude across the board was bland and disengage, like everyone was doing the bare minimum. When someone finally did speak to me, she didn’t even look at me. Just a quick monotone “pickup?” and then disappeared again. Pickup is supposed to be fast. Instead, it felt like I was interrupting them by existing. If Sephora wants customers to shop in-store, the staff needs to actually act like they want people there.

  The female workers here are incredibly rude and act like you’re interrupting their conversation whenever you ask for help. They give off total mean-girl vibes and make you feel like a bother just for asking a question. The staff was honestly so unprofessional — Sephora really needs to replace these employees with people who actually care about customers. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, because every other Sephora I’ve been to has had kind and helpful workers.
