I genuinely do not know what I just experienced, but as someone with a degree in psychology, I can say the behavior was not normal or appropriate for a customer service setting. We arrived for my daughter’s first haircut, and the stylist asked for our phone number. When she entered it, it did not come up in the system. She asked if we had been there before. I said yes. She then asked, “Here?” and I confirmed again. She responded, “Are you sure? Because you haven’t.” At that point, I said, “Okay, if it’s not showing up, that’s fine I can give you the information again,” understanding that systems sometimes purge data. She did want to keep harping on the fact I never been there in which yes my tone did get a little annoyed since I just wanted to give her the information to get started on the haircut. She asked for the number again, and I provided it again. At that point, her behavior escalated significantly. She abruptly walked away, visibly agitated. Confused, I asked her coworker if she was okay. The coworker apologized, and another customer even commented that this behavior happens frequently and that “something isn’t right.” The stylist then called the manager, Kim, and insisted I speak with her. However, while I was trying to calmly explain the situation, she began screaming at my husband and in front of my young children. My husband did respond and said she had been rude. At that point, multiple people including another customer and her coworker were attempting to de-escalate the situation and offer to simply proceed with the haircut. Instead, the stylist grabbed the phone from her coworker and stated they were calling the police on me, despite me just trying to check in. The manager, Kim, was not helpful in resolving the situation and appeared to support or enable the escalation rather than de-escalate it. Kim instructed me to de-escalate with her employee at one point. I need to be very clear that it is not a customer’s responsibility to manage or calm an employee who is acting in an escalated and unprofessional manner. As her employee is in my husbands face screaming and traumatizing my children. We ultimately left the establishment. As we were leaving, a customer stopped us and said the situation was “insane” and not okay, and that this behavior happens regularly to find another salon. While I understand the possibility that an employee may be dealing with personal or mental health challenges, the behavior we experienced was extremely alarming, disruptive, and inappropriate for a public-facing business. I left feeling shaken and confused. I strongly encourage management to address this situation appropriately, as the behavior is resulting in customers being turned away and unnecessarily escalated conflicts, including threats to involve law enforcement in a situation where a customer was simply attempting to check in for an appointment.

I decided to take my husband to get his hair done at this place, I was extremely disappointed on the customer service. I was currently at that time going through a tough time so I couldn’t leave a tip, which I in other occasions have done in other great clips, but the lady was so rude and made a big scene for not getting a tip that day and I felt horrible leaving there. Which is extremely unnecessary. This type of service has never happened to me. This location could do way better.

Moana is the absolute best. I have been going to her for several years. I have short hair so I'm there about every 5 weeks. A friendship has been formed.

Took my 7 year old son this morning, the person who cut his hair.. should not be cutting hair. When he climbed out of the chair, I asked her to blend the sides better.. she told me that she already did and it is bad lighting in the salon making it look that way. I still paid and gave a tip, but won't be going back there. Ridiculous.
