I had such a great experience at Sephora thanks to Sophia. I asked for help finding a glowy base product, even though I didn’t really know how to explain what I was looking for, and she was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She showed me multiple options and explained the differences so I could choose what worked best for me. I also mentioned that I have sensitive, eczema-prone skin, and Sophia took the time to go over ingredients and recommend products that would be safe and gentle for me. She never made me feel silly for asking questions, especially since I don’t have much makeup knowledge. On top of all that, she was so personable—sweet, friendly, and easy to talk to. Such a positive experience!

I was hesitant to go based on some of the comments, but so glad I did! Isabel was the best- so friendly and so helpful. I will definitely go back!

this place is SUCH a mixed bag, but honestly it needs some serious help. There are one or two employees that are helpful and kind, but other than that, my experiences shopping here have been quite off putting to say the least. between the sporadic flocks of unsupervised children (which the store has little control over) and the pungent smell of perfume that overtakes the store, I cannot recommend this location to anyone that values their experience while shopping. The majority of the staff are either aloof, not very useful, or straight up rude as can be. I have been followed around the store in the past, even without my purse in hand, by employees despite me insisting I do not need help or want a color match. I have had heard rude and snide remarks loud and clear, which is very disrespectful to the shoppers that support the store. Most of my unpleasant experiences with staff tend to be passive aggressive in nature, with a tinge of judgement for any questions I ask. I have also had a few very positive experiences where a select employee or two went of out their way to help me, which I very much appreciate. The store has a somewhat decent selection, however, it does not tend to be the most organized or clean. I don’t blame this on the store, rather the patrons that shop here. if you have allergies or sensitivities to fragrances, this store is an asthma attack waiting to happen. The layout basically has perfume walls around the entire back of the store going near one side, in addition to samplers placed in the middle section on end caps. I would not be surprised if their air circulation system worsens this. It tends to be at its worst when patrons are spraying samples broadly into the air (or upper body) rather than onto tester strips a sampler paper or their wrist. The only reason I even go into stores is to try products out before purchasing; having sensitive skin and allergies makes this a must if I don’t want to waste my money. I am hoping that this store will receive better management and maybe some reorganization to handle the issues I have mentioned. It is in such a prime location that it would be worth the investment.

I’ve been shopping at Sephora for the last 17 years. They’ve always been a bit uppity there but I never have experienced this before. I was profiled by 4 different employees within 2 minutes of entering the store. My purse is large and I had a list with me- apparently that meant I was planning to steal something. Employees stood at the end of each aisle I went to and talked on their little microphones. The fourth time, I asked one of them “Is there a problem?”. She said “Oh you were asking for a color match?”- no I wasn’t. I feel I know why this happened, because I went in without my makeup or hair done, and with very casual clothes on. Incredibly rude, condescending employees and I couldn’t get out fast enough. If you want to avoid feeling like a criminal just for walking in a store, avoid at all costs and go to Rockingham. Not as well stocked but they don’t treat customers like trash. And honestly, I’m not writing this for a reply of any kind because I don’t care and will just avoid Sephora from now on- too much negativity in the world to focus on what is meant to be a fun self-care activity. I am writing this so others know what they are getting into if they go here and don’t fit the Sephora mold.
