The haircut was not done the way I expected, and I ended up paying more than I usually do for a haircut that I am not happy with. What made the experience worse was the tipping situation. When I initially skipped the tip option, the stylist asked why I skipped it and said that I had to tip. After I added a $2 tip, I was then told that the minimum tip was $5. This made me feel pressured and uncomfortable, especially since tips are supposed to be optional. I am a student and my financial situation is not the best, so being pressured to pay more than I was prepared for made the experience even more stressful. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with both the haircut and the customer service. I hope management addresses this issue so other customers do not have the same experience.

However, my opinion changed after my last two visits with one particular stylist. She handled my hair very roughly without asking for my preferences or showing much care. In addition, she used the spray bottle in a very careless way, spraying water all over my face to the point where it was dripping and even getting into my eyes, but she didn’t seem to pay any attention to it. I also felt that this reflected a lack of professionalism and consideration. When she finished, she didn’t clearly communicate that she was done and instead gave the impression that she just wanted to rush me out, which felt quite rude and unprofessional. I was especially disappointed that she didn’t do the basic cleanup after the haircut. She didn’t brush off or remove the loose hair, so I ended up with leftover hair all over me, my car, and even my home. I don’t think her technical skills are bad, but her attitude toward customer service is a problem. Because of this experience, I would consider going to a different salon—not because of the other stylists, but because of her.

Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call your local Great Clips salon to inquire.
Can I request a stylist using Online Check-In?
No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
