After visiting this shop three times I think it is time for a review. This is not a negative review, but it is my truth. The people in this shop are very nice, it is very clean and the atmosphere is very nice. I scheduled with Roland to get a retouch on my relaxer. I noticed the method that he used to apply the relaxer was different than what I was used to. My hair was parted into four sections and he began applying the relaxer on one side from the front moving backward, then he went to the other side and started from the front and applied backwards. I thought that was unusual, but I didn't say anything. So after several months had went by, I went for a second visit for a retouch on my relaxer, and the same method was used again. I am an older person, and I have had my hair in a relaxed state for nearly fifty years, and I have never had a relaxer applied this way. I had previously been getting my hair relaxed at another shop which is right down the street from this shop called Madison and Maine where the operator there was overprocessing my hair by leaving the relaxer on too long, so that is why I left that shop and came to this shop in hopes that my hair would be treated better. My hair is suffering from breakage, but I'm not blaming anyone because I really don't know who to blame. For the reasons stated earlier, I will not return. On the other hand, if you have natural hair and you are looking for someone to keep your braids looking nice. This is probably a good shop, because I did witness some customers coming in there with very nice braided natural styles. I will conclude by saying, Roland is a very nice person. I don't have anything against him personally. It's just the method used was not something I can agree to when applying relaxer.

Yes yes yes!!! I love this place. Please understand that while it's not always easy to get a haircut appointment here when you want it is worth it. Since coming to Charlotte it's not easy to find a place that takes care of natural hair and actually help it become healthier. The owner is very educational about hair and is not shy about telling you what kind of help you need for it. We need that. If I could give her 1,000 stars I would. Only place that I trust with my hair. Loyal customer here.
