- NMNatalie McKittrickAug 21, 20255.0I used to work in retail, and if I had forgotten to apply the customer's coupon, I would acknowledge that in some way, such as an apology, or oops. I made an Amazon return, was given a 10% off coupon to use at Sephora, and after buying something at Sephora, I saw the coupon I gave at checkout had not been applied. The other notable thing about this trip to Sephora was there was a lady in line at the checkout, and when I got in line behind her, I realized there was no one at the checkout counter. I scanned and saw 2 women to my right, in the same aisle. The lady looked at me and looked right back at the other employee she had been talking to. I look behind me, and there is another employee. The checkout counter was right in view. It was obvious we were waiting in line, but no one started moving in our direction or said, I'll be right there. So I walked over to the lady to my right and asked her if there was someone at the checkout, just trying to be polite. The vibe felt like it was rude to ask to be checked out. I highly recommend you make the checkout a self-checkout at Sephora and have a policy where customers are acknowledged or greeted in some way. I will never be back to this store.
