I normally go to the one in grain valley but unfortunately I was in Independence and I didn't think it would be a disappointment to go here and try it out as I always go to great clips to get my hair cut and never have had issues. Today I go in for a cut and shampoo and when I got to the register they tried to charge me $85 when I proceeded to ask why it was that much when a cut and shampoo is only $30 they said they charged for a style as well (as I did not ask for nor get) so they changed the price to $65. After she seen I was frustrated and wasn't going to get screwed over they changed the price to $30 the price it originally cost. I do not recommend going to this location.

I went in yesterday after not having a cut or trim for over a year (I have a new baby and just hadn’t found the time). I had a little bit of time before I needed to pick up my baby from the sitter and was very excited for this simple self care moment. I requested a simple trim just to clean things up. My hair was in a braid when walking in so taking it down would mean it’s left wavy and I normally have pin straight hair. We discussed what I would like and that was a simple trim with light layering. When cutting only the very ends of my hair were sprayed with water and I asked if this would cause uneven cut and was told no. Before leaving the salon since my hair was wet in some places and dry in others it really didn’t look too awful. But once I got home and styled it myself it was apparent just how uneven, blunt and choppy it is. I refuse to go back and have even more damage done to my hair I’ve spent so long getting healthy and growing out. Even more frustrating there were multiple comments about how healthy and beautiful my hair is and I was still done dirty like that. I attempted calling the salon directly for a refund with no luck and have now reached out to customer service and awaiting a reply…. For now I have to spend double what I would have to go get this fixed. I would appreciate if a stylist is unsure if they can complete a cut or doesn’t have the time they just say that versus hacking away at someone’s hair. I have tried uploading a photo to my review and google will not allow it, but it looks like my hair was cut with those wavy craft scissors. I am so wildly disappointed and now have to pay double the amount to get this fixed.

Normally I would watch and say something, but they called me over to trim my daughters bangs. My daughter got upset (as two year old do) and I asked her to wait for me to put on a movie to calm her down. She didnt get a cape on, she didn't wait for me to find a show to calm her down, and she just started cutting without asking how I wanted her bangs... she cut the hair all over my purse and lap and she cut her bangs way shorter than I wabted. Overall not a great experience they are very scissor happy there.
