I have an event this afternoon and took off work so I could prepare for the event and of of the important things I wanted to accomplish was getting my hair cut. I logged in to the app at 9:55 am and it informed me that the salon was closed and will open at 10 am. At 10:am I wasn’t able to check in until 10:05 am . All of this is normal and nothing I was not aware of and at 10am it told me there was a 28 minute wait and still online check in was not available. At 10:05 the wait was still 26 minutes and the login button appeared and I clicked on it immediately. The app told me there was an 83 minute wait but I was number 2 on the list so I figured it was a glitch and continued my drive to the salon. Right before I got to the salon the wait went to 36 minutes and I was number 7 on the list. I figured that was more feasible and the system had fully processed when it was turned on. So I decided to save some time and I drove to Minnetonka to quickly do another item before my event. Based off the time I should have been approximately 10:50 for me to be called. I arrived at the salon at 11 am I sat down said hello to the person who usually cuts my hair. I wasn’t there a minute I looked up and my name was not on the wait list I was shocked. Especially with everything I needed to do and the wait was over an hour. I told them I was not happy actually I was extremely mad. No one offered to do anything. No one offered any help. I left and I will never go back. After the amount of business I gave them over 13 years.
- KLKua LorNov 8, 20251.0Worst great clips Ive been to and Ive been with great clips for the last 16 years. Never go to this one. Great clips on Vinewood, Nathan Lane, and Wayzata are the better options. Avoid this one. Person cutting hair had seemed like she didnt want to cut hair at all.

Online Check-In becomes available five minutes after the salon opens. We accept Online Check-Ins up to the point where the estimated wait time is as long as the salon will remain open, or 30 minutes before closing time at the latest.

Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call your local Great Clips salon to inquire.
Can I request a stylist using Online Check-In?
No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
