For how much it costs and that they tout themselves as a luxury hotel, I expected nicer. It was your basic pool and spa. All the open lounge chairs by the pool were dirty and we had to flag someone down to clean them. The sauna and steam room are inside the locker rooms—we did a spa as a couple so couldn’t use those amenities together. It was not luxurious. Plain, basic. Go to Watershed for more luxury feel.

We stayed at the Four Seasons Minneapolis this past weekend, and while the hotel itself was wonderful, I had a disappointing experience with the spa’s pricing transparency. When I called to book my massage, I was quoted the base price of $225. I knew an automatic gratuity would be added, but my final charge came to $328.68, which didn’t make sense based on gratuity alone. Nothing was mentioned during the phone booking about dynamic pricing, a 2% staff fee, an 18% provider fee, or the additional taxes. These extra charges only appeared in the online cart afterward. The next day, we went back to the spa to ask about the discrepancy, and the staff explained that the price can change depending on how “in demand” a specific massage style is or how busy the spa is on that day. For a brand like Four Seasons, this level of price fluctuation without upfront disclosure feels misleading. Guests shouldn’t have to discover hidden fees or shifting prices after the fact. The massage itself was great, but the lack of transparency overshadowed the experience. If you plan to book here, make sure to confirm the actual final price before scheduling.

Today was my first visit at this Spa. I was greeted by Aliyah when I walked in, she was so kind and genuinely welcoming. The Spa water she offered was the best I’ve ever had in any MN Spa. She gave me a tour of the women’s area, amenities and lounge. The entire space is beautiful. I had the Honey Haven Body Ritual with Jessica, and highly recommend it and her! She won’t disappoint. Kari was so sweet and offered me a glass of bubbles accompanied by macaroons and truffles! The hospitality truly matches the quality of the services and beauty of the facility. I will be back. My lunch was great too! I felt like I was on a vacation but just for four hours. The steam room was just a bit small, that’s all I can really criticize if I had to find something but I made a fellow new-mom friend in there so the company was good!

I’ve had two massages in my life that I needed to tell people about. One was October 10, 2009 at the Trump Hotel (fyi this is not a political statement) in Chicago. The second was June 14, 2023 at The Four Seasons in Minneapolis. I almost hesitate to give the name of the masseuse so she doesn’t get too big and leave. But she deserves the credit. Her name is Allison, and it would be an insult to her to use simple verbiage from the English language to describe that of which she is capable. Suffice it to say, she was wonderful. 6 stars.
