  I was very impressed with the student doing my hair but the instructors seemed to be hit or miss. The student had a plan to lighten my hair that she had been perfecting all week, but during my appointment an instructor advised the student to change her plan at the last minute and recommended using a different product. The student questioned this but the instructor continued to recommend doing it this way. The student followed the instructors directions (as one would expect at a school) and my hair did not turn out as desired. Instead of the sun-kissed balayage look I was going for, the end product was a very warm toned, slightly coppery blonde. The instructor ended up admitting that the student was correct and should have followed her original plan. The student was upset about the whole situation and offered to make it right. She had me come in a few days later for a correction and worked late to be able to accommodate my work schedule. There was a different instructor at this second appointment who was very helpful and provided proper guidance to the student. My hair ended up turning out beautifully after the correction, but I feel like the problem should never have happened in the first place. I understand this is a school but mistakes should be expected by students not by the instructors there to guide them.

  My mother was seen at the salon Wednesday April 1st for a perm and a cut with one of their students/stylist. I will start by saying the stylist was great. My mother is elderly and hard of hearing but the stylist listened and was very attentive to what I was saying in regards to my mother’s desire for the appointment especially the cut. This is the second appointment that we had had with the stylist and the first appointment was also for a cut and perm and after the first appointment, we realized we needed to do the cut shorter at the next time she got her hair done. The problem regarding the appointment was the instructor that was assigned named Jarvi. Unfortunately, I was not able to stick around for the appointment however, when I went to pick my mother up, I was shocked to see how short her hair was. I had spoken in length with the stylist regarding the length of the hair (either right on top of shoulder or chin length) and found out that the instructor had completely disregarded what was wanted by my mother and what was explained. I was also informed that during the appointment, the instructor made my mother, extremely uncomfortable regarding her demeanor towards the student and how she was interacting with the student. Not to mention that on several occasions, she was rude and pushy with my mother. I could tell upon picking my mother up that my mother was disappointed as well. I could tell that the student was disappointed with the result, as it was not what we had previously discussed. This is the second interaction with Jarvi as she was the assigned instructor. The first time my mother had her hair done, I also explained the length of the hair and was pushed by the instructor that I was wrong and that I did not know what I was talking about even though I had the notes and everything for my mother’s previous stylist who had been her stylist for 30 years. I was told that if we were to cut her hair, the length that my mother wanted that she would have no hair left. At this most current appointment, she cut my mother’s hair, even shorter than it was supposed to be and cut the layers shorter than they were supposed to be, and basically took over the appointment from the stylist. My mother said her tone was condescending to the student when the student was explaining to the instructor what the desired cut was supposed to be. And my mother said that she just kept cutting and cutting. Through my interactions with being in the salon several times and watching Jarvi interact with students, although I know it is a teaching facility, to watch her breaking these students down, it is very concerning. I also find it concerning of just completely taking over the cut and an appointment when this is a student facility. And making people feel uncomfortable and intimidated to the point where they can’t say anything (my mother) it’s very concerning. If I were to go back, I would make sure that she is not the instructor as I wish to not have dealings with her. I am glad the hair will grow back, but having two interactions where she completely disregarded what the student was telling her which was what the client was telling her, is ridiculous. The client is paying for what the client wants. I would understand if the student is the one who made a mistake, as they are in school for a reason, but to have an instructor do this is outrageous.

  I had a great experience with Lesly! She did an amazing job I got a hair trim, a facial, and my eyebrows done. She was very sweet, attentive, and really listened to what I wanted. When it came to my eyebrows, she was incredibly detailed and made sure I loved the shape before finishing. I left feeling happy and confident. I highly recommend booking with her!

  Lauren did an amazing job on my brows! I got a wax, lamination, and tint, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She was very detail-oriented and made sure everything looked clean, even, and natural. She also made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process and explained what she was doing along the way. You can tell she really cares about her work. Highly recommend booking with Lauren!
