  Calie was great. The process was smooth, explained well and aftercare instructions were thorough! I highly recommend this service. We had two nurses perform the procedure to make it easier. No tears!

  I took my daughter here to get her ear lobes pierced for the first time and it was a really stressful experience for me. I had planned to take her to a locally owned place, but the Rowan chain was recommended to me and I was able to get a next day appointment. When booking, I needed to select needle or device piercing. Since I wasn’t sure, I used the chat function on the Rowan website to ask which would be best for a 10-year-old, and was directed towards needle piercing. I tried to read the policies and fine print and submitted my ID through the portal when I booked. I thought we were all set. When we arrived for the appointment, the staff member told me they needed my child’s birth certificate or other ID. This really was not clear when I was making the appointment and it should have been mentioned in the chat or as part of the booking process - like a pop-up that says “You selected needle piercing. If under 18, one of the following types of ID is required…”. The staff member made me feel very awkward and finally I asked if we could switch to device piercing and they said yes. I knew the jewelry would be an additional cost, but I was not expecting the earrings to start at $60. My child picked out a pair that are identical to a pair she received as a gift in a set of 12 pair of earrings from Target. Throughout the process, I did not feel the staff was kind, and I felt very stressed and uncomfortable. The nurse told us the after care solution was required and would be $10. It was actually $20. The total cost of our visit was $140, which was about twice what I was expecting. I guess I could have done more research, but the whole experience seemed coercive. The kicker is that the bottle of after care solution leaked somehow, and we lost most of what was inside after only two uses. I have since learned that this has happened to others with the Rowan after care solution. It felt like there were a number of surprises (not the good kind) that could have been easily avoided, if transparency was the goal. Like, say the piercing price is $70, which includes after care solution, rather than $50 +$20, + overpriced jewelry. But unfortunately, transparency is not the goal. The goal is get you in the door and get your kid into the chair before you can change your mind. We ended up with a piercing that I hope we will be happy with in the long run, but it was not the pleasant celebratory experience I was hoping for as my child’s birthday gift. If I could do it over, I would definitely go somewhere else.

  Staff is extremely welcoming and kind. They did a wonderful job and were super knowledgeable. 5/5 will be back in the future!!

  I was more nervous than anything, and Nurse Nicole was the kindest, sweetest, calming and well informed nurse. Seriously we couldn’t have had a better experience! My 4 month old cried only when we were holding her head, and it was all done in less than 15 seconds. She stopped crying immediately after and was all smiles with Nurse Nicole and the staff!

  We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Rowan Southdale! I brought my six-year-old daughter in for her first piercings, and Nurse Calie was incredible. She immediately put my daughter at ease with her kind and polite demeanor. Calie took the time to answer all our questions and made the entire process feel safe and special. If you're looking for a stress-free experience for your child, ask for Nurse Calie!
