I had a very mixed experience here and felt it was worth sharing.
A few days ago, I came in to purchase the store’s Christmas gift boxes and had a wonderful experience. The gift sets were beautifully put together, and the staff thoughtfully wrapped each one with ribbon, placed them into bags, and added tissue paper. I loved the presentation so much that I bought five gift boxes.
Because of that positive experience, I came back today to purchase seven more gift boxes. Unfortunately, today’s visit was completely different.
When I walked in, the store was empty except for two staff members, yet no one greeted us or asked if we needed any help. I eventually had to approach the staff myself. The checkout process was very slow, and when I asked if the gift boxes could be packaged the same way as my previous visit, I was told they couldn’t do it and that I could bring the items back later if I wanted them wrapped. These were Christmas gifts, so bringing them back later was not a realistic option.
When I expressed my disappointment, the staff member responded by staring at me and asking, “How can I wrap it for you when there is a line?” in a very confrontational tone. At that point, the issue was no longer the packaging itself, but the way the situation was handled. If staffing or time was a concern, a polite and professional explanation would have been completely understandable. Being spoken to in that manner was not.
I truly love this store’s products and packaging, which is why I returned and made another large purchase. However, the inconsistency in service and the lack of basic courtesy made this experience disappointing. I hope this feedback helps improve future customer interactions, because the products themselves are lovely
