  I have never been happier with the way that my hair turned out! Ida had the patience of a saint detangling, deep conditioning, trimming, and silk pressing my thick hair. My hair still looks beautiful almost 3 weeks later! Even though everything costed more than $180 because of all the services, I would still go back if/when I need another silk press or want to treat myself to a complete hair spa day.

  Never go to Ida Roberts at this salon. I’ve had past experiences with Laura and Viv, and they were perfect. This time, however, my daughter was assigned to Ida. She couldn’t keep up with her schedule, seems to have a hearing issue—because for everything, she had the excuse, “I didn’t hear it.” After delaying the appointment, she rushed through my daughter’s haircut in just five minutes to make time for another waiting client. Even after I gave very specific instructions—to trim only 2 inches in u- shape , keep the length below the shoulders, and even placed a marker clip well below her shoulder—she still cut it short, up to her ears. I didn’t think a professional stylist could fail to follow such basic instructions. My daughter has a dance competition in two months, and with this short haircut, I don’t know what fix I can use to create a neat ballerina bun. I’ve cried several times a day seeing her beautiful chest-length hair trimmed so badly.

  Will not be returning to this salon! Started out with a stylist, and had to talk her through how I needed my hair done. A stylist that has been to school should know this. Then went on to another stylist, who runs late and does not respond to your text messages. The prices at this salon is too overpriced. Then they want a TIP! YOU are overcharged when you go into this salon! I was going to be charged $35.00 for a trim. Not a cut but a trim! I called the manager, Holly who told me that the stylists are all masters and they set their own prices in which I responded that they both needed to be talked through on how to do my hair in which she got mad at me and defended them. If they were master stylists they would have their own salons!!!! It's very sad that many stylists that work in salons have licenses but they are not very good at what they do! Holly did not want to hear my concerns and I will no longer go to this salon. I am happy to say that I have found a great salon in downtown Farmington who treats their customers vey well and care about all their concerns. Not to mention that they prices are more affordable especially for seniors!!!! I will also be reaching out to JC Penney corporate to also voice my concerns. I will definitely be telling everyone that I know not to go to the salon at JC Penney at 12 Oaks Mall.

  Brenda is amazing! I booked my initial appointment at JCPenney salon online, not caring which stylist I saw. Luckily, my appointment was booked with Brenda and now I won’t go to anyone else! I suffer from thinning hair, so going to the salon is not usually a good experience for me. Brenda took the time and listened to what I had to say and she actually cut my hair how I wanted it. She worked with the hair I have and I left there feeling fantastic! I’ve been back to her several times since my initial appointment and now I go to her for hair extensions too. At my consultation, we came up with a plan and she helped me pick the perfect color. I use the tape in extensions for volume. Brenda puts them in so well they last forever! She also helped me pick the right products to use and taught me how to properly care for them. Not only is Brenda excellent at what she does, she’s an amazing, caring person and a joy to talk to. I recommend Brenda 100% and I’m so grateful I found her!
