I came in to exchange a blush palette that arrived completely shattered from an online Sephora order. The associate was unbelievably rude and immediately shut me down with, “There’s nothing I can do, we’re Sephora at Kohl’s.” The store is fully branded as Sephora—but the service felt like the exact opposite. If that’s the policy, fine. But at least take a moment to explain it in a kind, empathetic way instead of brushing people off with attitude. To make matters worse, the closest standalone Sephora location to me is over 50 miles away. This was my only local option—and this is the kind of experience they’re offering? Thankfully, Sephora’s online support was amazing and handled everything quickly. But based on this in-store experience, it’s no wonder brick-and-mortar locations are closing left and right. With help like this, why would anyone bother shopping in person?
