  I dont usually post comments,but my hair looks better than it has in years! I had long thick damaged hair and Audra took her time..and talent and I am so pleased with my new look. I've been going to jcpenney salon for years. Never had a bad experience.

  I feel like my toddler cut my hair, it's horrible. I came in with long hair and was aiming for a reverse stack bob. They stylist was in such a rush to go home, it took her all but 15 minutes. I was extremely uncomfortable the whole time and she started cleaning up before I even looked at my hair. I'm not incredibly picky, I know it's just hair and it will grow back, but this is the worst haircut I have ever gotten.

  Only Laurel cuts my hair there. Nobody else. There are other hair dressers and stylists there, however, I've Never yet had to get my hair retrimmed or "fixed" after getting a haircut by Laurel at JC Penney's smart salon at Genesee Valley mall. And just recently a new manager has been hired, promising big changes by the time (6 weeks) I'm in need of another haircut.

  Came in for a color/cut -- something I never spend money on. I wanted a change in color. I usually do this on my own, but I decided to get giftcards for my birthday to "splurge" on myself. Anyway, I came out of the salon with nearly the same look...all the way down to the inch of darker roots that were completely noticable, even by the receptionist. (Not a single person noticed the color "change".) I was told that night to come in on Saturday. Since I work full-time with three YOUNG children, I arranged for a babysitter. When I drove out there, the stylist said I should have made an appointment, so there was not time to take care of the issue. It was 3 pm, she leaves at 6. The problem is, two of the three days she is available are during the work week, and there is only a six hour window of time on Saturday. I don't know what to do..my schedule does not allow me to come back until two weeks from now. I might go somewhere else to get the color redone but that feels like a huge waste of 80 bucks, not something I have lying around to do this again. My other way is trying to fix it with a box color. That is what I usually do anyway, but I was hoping for more at a salon. The only positive experience walking away from this is that the stylist was nice, but did not call me in Friday like she said she was going to try to do. Also, every person I met at the front was also welcoming and professional. IF I do go back in two weeks, that will be my final visit. I am leaving here after finding a baysitter and driving 20 minutes super disappointed.
