  I operated my nail business at this Salon Lofts location for over 16 months as a fully compliant tenant. I paid rent on time, followed all policies, and built a strong, fully booked clientele without ever receiving any warnings or notices of noncompliance. I was recently informed that my lease would not be renewed due to a “permitted use” issue related to restrictions in the Master Lease with the property owner. This was the first time I was made aware that there could be any limitation affecting nail services, and this information was never disclosed to me at the time I was approved or throughout my tenancy. During the time I was there, suites continued to be marketed to and approved for nail professionals, which gave me confidence that my business was operating within permitted use. I invested significant time, money, and effort into growing my business at this location and so have 4 other nail technicians leasing with Salon Lofts as well. The sudden non-renewal without prior notice or a chance to address the issue has been extremely disruptive to my business and the livelihoods connected to it. I truly valued the time I spent here, but I wish there had been more transparency and communication regarding any lease restrictions that could affect tenants long-term.
