I made a New Year’s Eve appointment for my daughter and myself for a wash, trim, and blowout (straight style), plus a formal updo for me. We received an appointment confirmation and a written quote via text from “Lily,” including a discount on the highest-priced service. When we arrived at the salon, we were extremely disappointed. The stylists informed us that the cost would be nearly triple what we had been quoted and that they did not have time to do the updo at all. Most concerning, we were told that “Lily” is an AI system and that customers are expected to call the salon to verify quotes and services. At no point during the booking process were we informed that the quote was only an estimate, that we were communicating with AI, or that services required separate confirmation. Another client beside us was experiencing the same issue. Because we had a scheduled event, we had no choice but to proceed. Hair Cuttery needs to be transparent that AI-generated quotes are estimates and clearly instruct customers to confirm pricing and service availability in advance. This experience was stressful, misleading, and unacceptable—especially for a holiday appointment. As a result, I’ve lost trust in the booking process and will think twice before returning or recommending this salon. This is definitely not the Hair Cuttery I once knew.

The stylist I chose her name is Meg and her nationality is Armenian. I believe my first visit with her was 2 plus years ago. My first visit with her was a very different experience. This visit wasn't good. I booked my appointment online with her because she was considered with me and she knew how to do my hair, American whose ancestors were born in Africa. She put the permanent color in first. Washed my hair 1 time. I asked her if she washed my hair 1 time. She said yes my scalp felt clean. From a permanent color she washed one time. She rewashed again. The blow drying she kept burning my scalp. The trimming I could have done that myself. When I told her she was burning me with the blow drying she said she was trying to get my hair straight. But she kept burning me with the blow drying. Before that she said with flat iron curls it was $230.00. So,I paid $170.00 and flat iron was $60 extra. She also said that if I didn't tip her she wouldn't make money. She makes money from tips. She was abusive in me. She wasn't the caring and gentle person that did my hair 2 years ago ago. I paid her $170 and it wasn't worth it.
