  Summary: After tossing my receipt, the sales associate told me if I want my receipt, I can go through the trash and get it myself. On Sunday, I visited the L’Occitane store at Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda, MD 20817) to return a gift. The interaction I had with a sales associate named Amaya was deeply unprofessional and unacceptable. Initially, Amaya informed me that I could only exchange the item and was not eligible for store credit. After some discussion, she eventually agreed to issue store credit. However, she handed me a printed receipt labeled “store credit” without informing me of the amount and did not ask whether I wanted my original gift receipt returned. Instead, she discarded it. When I requested both the return receipt and my original gift receipt, Amaya told me she could not provide the return receipt because it contained “personal information.” I then asked for my original gift receipt, at which point she lifted the trash can and told me I could retrieve it myself. I explained that I was not comfortable going through the trash, as I had not discarded the receipt. In response, she emptied the contents of the trash can onto the counter and stated that if I wanted the receipt, I would have to find it myself. I then asked to speak with a manager and was told that there was no store manager available. I was absolutely appalled by this behavior. I have never experienced such treatment as a customer, and the conduct displayed was disrespectful, inappropriate, and entirely inconsistent with the level of service I expect from L’Occitane.

  My husband came home disturbed on 12/18 Monday evening. He said if I didn't love the products he would have left the store. He walked in and all 3 associates were talking and no one offered to assist. He made his purchases and then no one offered to put the items in a box . Now I know why Brick and Mortar are doing so poorly. I will be going to Georgetown and deal with the parking .

  The products are really amazing for your skin and also smell really nice!. I have dry skin and loved the verbena lotion. I also enjoy the scent of the cherry blossom collection scent - nicely floral and sweet but not overpowering. The only complaint is that the products are really very expensive for small amounts of product, but you are paying for the quality and reliability. When I purchased in store in the past, they bagged my purchase in a very cute gift bag with tissue paper that was sprayed with an incredible smelling perfume! In the Montgomery Mall location, the store is quite small, so during the COVID-19 pandemic, they are only allowing 4 or 5 people in the store at once, which includes the 2 employees that are there at a time.
