  Went to clean up my hair today, I asked for a fade on sides and back hairlines, keeping the top to mid length and showing how much hair I wanted to keep. Hair stylist kept cutting till it appeared too short, my hair is patchy and uneven. Came here before and came home with a decent hairdo with a similar request as of today, but for some reason this work came out atrocious. Never visiting again

  If I could I will give no stars . I went in and stood at the front waiting to be spoken with .. while two workers were singing ( I’m all for happy and singing and she can sing ) what I wasn’t impress with is how I stood up front saying hello .. while they sang and talked about how they took a lid off someone’s bin because they were tired of cleaning the hair off it . Smh It would’ve been nice to be acknowledged even if they weren’t taking anyone .. or have a close sign .. it was 6pm though .. a girl just want her hair done !

  Went to JCPenney salon for the first time and I loooved the results. RUTH was very patient with me (I was very indecisive and unsure with what I want lol) she walked me thru the whole process washing, cut and blow dry. I had a comfortable experience I definitely recommend Ruth🥰

  I would like to preface this by the fact that I believe had I been able to keep my appointment with the initially booked stylist or any other stylist in the building aside from the one I ended up working with none of this would've happened, and I hold no hard feelings to anyone else in this establishment. However I come in, and I (with reference photos) asked for a layered cut with with curtain bangs. Immediately upon seeing the reference image my stylist made a disgusted face and said "where's the back?" It was a photo of all the persons hair pulled to the front of the shoulders. She proceeded to continously complain it was a difficult cut and then got irritated with me when I declined a color refresh because I color my hair at home. She then proceeded to forcibly wash my hair (an extra service I couldn't afford at the time) solely because I had "too much hair" and she wanted to brush it wet. She only dried and styled the front half of my hair and told me to do the rest at home. She also ONLY cut and layered the front of my hair, incredibly uneven and choppy. She did half the job and charged me extra. I was honestly incredibly uncomfortable, disappointed, and embarrassed. I'd much rather her have just refused to do my hair all together if it had been that much trouble. Everyone else there was incredibly nice so I really didn't want to cause a scene but the more I look at it and reflect on it the worse it is. All around this was an unpleasant experience and I truly don't think she should be working with clients with that kind of demeanor. I ended up having to go to another salon to get it fixed.

  I had never been to a JCPenny salon before and didn't know what to expect. I saw Alyssa today who took my hair from a drab brown to a beautiful blonde. She was great (not just because her name is great lol) she checked in with me and my comfortability throughout the process and when she was finished with my hair made sure I genuinely loved it before I left. It was affordable and it came out beautifully. I had quite a bit of tones from red to brown to dark honey blonde and somehow I left with a beautiful soft warm blonde with very natural looking highlights all blending together perfectly... I'll be requesting her and coming back when it's time for a cut! I'm so glad I stopped in there on a whim today.
