I recently took my toddler there, and usually, we have a great experience. But this last visit was really disappointing. The woman that works second chair in on the right as you walk in was extremely rude and clearly doesn’t have patience for children, especially toddlers. she implied he hadn’t napped ( which wasn't true as he was picked up from daycare And had been excited all week to get his haircut). He was upset because hair was getting in his face and instead of helping, she snapped at him to " stop whining" " accusing him of her almost cutting her hand" when he wasn't tossing his head around he was trying to get hair out of his mouth. I ended up wiping his face the best I could. (And if y'all don't believe me, please review your camera footage from 2 weeks ago between 3:30 and 5:00 on a Friday)
Mama's
If you need to get your toddlers' hair cut there, I recommend asking for anyone on the left side of the room. There’s a guy with a white line running down his head he works first chair he’s fantastic and does amazing work. There’s also a tall Black woman, probably a manager, who’s an amazing stylist as well she works 3rd chair in on the left. Sadly, on my last visit, she wasn’t and first chair guy was there but already had someone in his chair. If..........IF I do go back and non of these good stylists are there. I definitely be walking out. It's not worth to put your toddler through someone that is clearly impatient and cannot tolerate small children

I want to give an honest review as an African American woman with (4C kinky/coily) natural hair. I hate going to beauty shops where I have to sit all day and spend a ridiculous amount of money in some cases. So I tried an alternative. I was told (by them) that Great Clips does all hair textures and any stylist in the salon could help me.
First I'd like to say that the staff is great. I've been here 3x (3 different reasons) and the customer service is phenomenal. You are always greeted with a smile when you enter and the atmosphere is always nice and calm. The place is very clean.
First time I went was after a surgery. I couldn't wash my hair at home so I went here. For$10 I received a great hair scrub and conditioning along with a pleasant conversation. The stylist was very gentle with my hair. Finger detangling as he went. No sighs or complaints as he worked with my coarse hair. I left with my hair wet. I Added my products in the car and twisted into sections before leaving. Great experience.
Second visit I just needed my ends clipped. I had quite a bit of damage and my ends kept snagging and getting tiny knots. I washed and straightened at home and they clipped my ends for $19. Cost of a haircut. Great experience. I'm and out very quickly.
Third visit I decided to test myself to some self care time. Plus I wanted a professional flat ironing. I usually wear my hair in twist outs and afros so I haven't mastered flat ironing. I can't never get it to have body or get a bump in it. I decided to try Great Clips for an actual wash ($10)and style($30). The wash was great, the conversation pleasant but the styling I didn't love. The round brush on my fully wet kinky hair felt like it was tearing. Stylist was gentle but there was a lot of pulling and snagging. I was tense the entire time. I also noticed the my hair wasn't getting fully dry so as they worked the roots were left to air dry. When they moved to the flat into the heat wasn't high enough and again my roots (at the scalp)were not getting the heat. As they combed I still felt a lot of catching with the comb. They couldn't comb through my hair with a fine tooth comb which is basically the point of me straightening it. Now the stylist wasn't rushing and worked very hard and was gentle but this was not the technique for my hair. When I asked about the heat level they said 340⁰ . My coarse hair can take 400⁰ but I usually keep it between 350⁰-370⁰ to get results, but avoid damage. I paid $40 (+tip). I wasn't happy with the results, but I didn't feel like the person didn't try. I was there about 2 hours. My hair looked like I got a blowout. After I left I had to go home and flat iron my hair and add some oil to it. This was my self care Saturday splurge and I left a bit frustrated and still had to comb my own hair. You win some, you lose some I guess.
So as a black woman with natural (4C) hair would I recommend this place? Yes, for a good scrub and clipped ends. They could probably do a decent cut too , but you'd have to style/curl it yourself. If you are looking for a beautiful, bouncy blow out or flat ironing, or if you have an event to attend... no. Absolutely not. I think finding a beauty shop with natural black hair experience, products and tools is a must. Just be prepared to sit around for 7 hours.
I'll post pictures of my hair when I left Great clips (pink shirt) and when I redid my hair at home (tank top).

I have been there three times and had a couple of three different people and everything I hated it they didn't listen I showed them the picture I don't know what they were thinking of why they did it but it was always too short all 3 times and it's not how I wanted I wanted it stacked be a little longer in the front
