  I've been going to this JCPenney salon for about 2+ years now, and yesterday (2/7/26) is most likely the last time. When I arrived for my appointment, there was no one at the counter, so I had to wait for around for close to 10 min. While I was waiting, an elderly White couple came in and stood behind me (I'm Black). When an employee finally came out to the counter-- a White woman with platinum blonde hair-- she proceeded to completely ignore me like I wasn't even there, and go straight to the White couple behind me to start assisting them, getting them checked in, etc., despite the fact that I was there first and had been waiting longer. My appointment was at 11, but my stylist didn't get to me until right before 12. A 15 min., 20 min. wait is one thing, but almost an hour? Especially after I was already straight up ignored when I first came in... just, wow. It's inconsiderate how long I've had to sit around and wait at every single appointment, especially when you see other people who came in after you, get taken to a chair and started on immediately. I've tolerated it because it's getting harder and harder to find a salon in Louisville who will do the particular service I get, and the stylist I always request when I go to this salon is really good. But I don't like the way I was made to feel yesterday, especially when I've spent over $100 every time as well. So I'm just going to look elsewhere. It is what it is.

  The cuts and prices are fine but it's always difficult to get them to answer the phone

  I've been growing my hair out from bald for several months. Went in to get it cleaned up a bit, and this girl just starts HACKING randomly at my hair, with both scissors and clippers. There were uneven lines and chunks sticking out all over my hair. I started freaking out and another stylist came over and started trying to fix her butchery. Not only does it still look terrible, he told me I should have gone to a barber shop because my hair is too short. Maybe tell me you can't handle short hair BEFORE completely destroying it? I'm going on a trip in a few days, and am now scrambling to find someone who might be able to salvage this mess. At this point, I may just have to get a wig. Never EVER again!
