Kim is always a pleasure to talk with during my haircut appointments. She does a great job listening to what I want and cutting exactly how I ask her to.

It’s the next day, and I’m still uncomfortable about my experience here. The tl;dr: Don’t give them your contact info, don’t go or work here if you’re Gen Z, they gossip about patrons with a dollop of sexism and belief that everyone should want blond children, and the cuts aren’t really a focus. My visit started with my personal contact information - full name, phone, home address - being said loudly so the few people in there could hear it. When I asked if I was being signed up for something, she said no, so I don’t know why they needed it. I was also chided for giving them the “wrong phone number, so they couldn’t find me in their system.” Odd, since I got the texts both times I’ve reserved a slot with Great Clips online, the phone number read loudly was the correct one, and my number hasn’t changed. The stylists started having a conversation about young adults, specifically young stylists, regarding their work ethic, love of their devices, and job hopping. One of the workers said that a younger stylist said she (the worker) was creating a hostile work environment because she asked the younger to get off her phone. With how mean this conversation was… I’m not sure it was the phone. She tried to get me to agree with their point of view, and since she had scissors in my hair, all I did was “hmm.” I like the younger generation, and this was super unprofessional. Then, they began gossiping about a client. Already not great. But the key points were worse: - He should be married because he’s blond, and “what woman doesn’t want kids with blond hair?” (Yikes.) - When one stylist told the other that she believed he was unmarried but did have kids, there was an awkward pause followed by “at least he reproduced.” (Double yikes.) - I now know what this stranger does for a living and how he thinks a relationship wouldn’t work with his schedule. “She could just stay home and raise their babies.,” followed by another mention of the hair color. When I didn’t respond, I got a “some women want that…” Sure, but yikes again. The haircut… I wasn’t even offered a shampoo, and for the cost, I’m surprised it wasn’t included, as similarly priced places do include it. (If it was supposed to be included, I’d like at least a partial refund.) I wasn’t given a mirror to look at the back, even though that’s where most work was done. Just asked how it felt, and it felt fine at that moment. (Plus, I didn’t want to give them a reason to gossip about me, though I’m sure I have now.) The cut took about 5 minutes, and since I have wavy hair that was just lightly sprayed down after being up in a pony tail, not dried, and not parted correctly - she started cutting without asking about the part - I’m not confident that it’ll look right after a wash and dry. It was also tangled when I got to my car, and it wasn’t windy. As I mentioned, extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this salon.

I like coming to this great clips because its convenient but I wont be coming back here again. A couple weeks ago I went in to get a hair cut and told the lady I wanted 2 to 3 inches off (just a trim) she proceeded to cut my hair at least 5 to 6 inches. It was so short. Which was not a big deal I wasn't to worried about that. The big problem was when I took my son the next weekend. We come in and everyone is just unfriendly and snotty. I show the lady what my son wanted and she just rolled her eyes without saying anything. It was a standard faded sides and a cut on top. In the middle of him getting his hair cut a guy pulled into the parking lot and was getting out of the car, the girl that was cutting my son's hair turned to the other stylist and said "here comes that guy with the big earings" and the other girl rolled her eyes and pretended to run away. Then was nice and friendly to him while cutting his hair. So disturbing and two-faced. When my son's hair was done and he was walking to meet me at check out the other girl goes "thats an interesting hair cut" and the girl that cut my son's hair laughed! Luckily my son didnt hear that and i made sure to tell him it looks very nice. The workers here are so extremely rude and mean girl material. Update: it's been a month, I reached out to the customer service web address given and still no reply...
