- KDKathy DorseyAug 12, 20251.0This was the worst experience of my life. I asked the stylist for a simple trim and a tapered cut, even showing her a photo of what I wanted. But before I knew it, she pulled out clippers and gave me a low fade instead. If she wasn’t comfortable or experienced with cutting hair like mine—especially considering different textures and styles—she should have told me upfront. I reluctantly let her try to fix it since the damage was already done, but then she grabbed the clippers again and cut even more. I told her to stop and not to cut it any shorter, but she ignored me. What’s worse, she showed no apology or concern—just kept insisting it matched the picture, even though it clearly didn’t. As a Black woman trying to give a new place a chance, this experience felt dismissive and hurtful. It honestly seemed like she was enjoying making me uncomfortable, even giggling when I said it was too short and not what I asked for. I hope she’s proud of how she handled this, and I’m equally disappointed in the manager for not acknowledging my experience and making excuses for her

After I explain to her what happen a few days back she was able to fix the mess that my hair was! It seems to me that I have found the place to go for a nice haircut! Thank you Rachel!
- MYMiranda YellinOct 22, 20211.0I walked in and told them I checked in on line the lady at the counter checked me in and said I was next. Someone else walked in after me and the guy who said he’s the manager took them instead of me! I said oh I thought I was next and all he said was no you aren’t and told me to put my mask on which I have no problem with at all. But he didn’t bother to explain or apologize then I got my haircut and it was the worst hair cut she didn’t want to listen to what I want and she didn’t even brush the hair off my neck when done then when I got home I found a very long chunk of hair that was un even. Overall the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten definitely DO NOT recommend!!

Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
