- KGKimberly GrossMar 21, 20261.0Horrible experience. I arrived, was seated and gave a brief description of what I wanted. The stylist began cutting my hair without asking questions (like whether I wanted a wash, and just began cutting it dry). As the stylist started to cut my hair, I asked her to use a razor. She stated she did not have one, so as I began ask her to stop/wait to explain that I wanted a razor because I did not want it to look choppy, she cut into it anyway. It ended up super choppy so I was visibly upset and explained that it is exactly what I did not want. She explained that she was going to fix it, so to just double check what was about to happen, I asked the stylist to explain back to me what I did not like about it and how she would remedy that. The other stylist in the store chimed in and said if I would just let her finish it would not look choppy. So, I let them continue. Big mistake. The original stylist asked the other one if she has a razor to try to fix it for me...she did not...and apparently there is not one in the entire shop. I was so upset that one of them said that the only thing that they could do now would be to let it grow out and come back, and just not charge me...(which btw would take years from the length that it was). As I was leaving they still tried to charge me even though they said it would be comped. Do NOT go here. I should have been suspicious when the place was empty on a Sat afternoon before a big holiday weekend!!!

The stylist checked in several times to make sure it was the right way. She had such a great experience She went again several months later. I'm sorry to read some negative comments but good communication with a stylist BEFORE beginning a haircut is a bug part of leaving the salon happy. It's a budget hair salon,great value for the service.

When is Online Check-In available?
Online Check-In becomes available five minutes after the salon opens. We accept Online Check-Ins up to the point where the estimated wait time is as long as the salon will remain open, or 30 minutes before closing time at the latest.
Can I use Online Check-In for all types of services?
Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call your local Great Clips salon to inquire.
Can I request a stylist using Online Check-In?
No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
