  I walked in without an appointment last week because I wanted flat back earrings for my lobe piercing. I’m legally blind and found it impossible to do on my own. I also wanted to get my second lobe pierced, but I was hesitant because I forget if piercings hurt and while I deal with chronic pain I am a TOTAL BABY about regular people pain. I chose Rowan because they only hire registered nurses to do piercings which made me feel comfortable because the last time I got my ears pierced, it was at Claire’s by some 18-year-old manager-in-training wielding a piercing gun and rolling her eyes. They also have solid gold or titanium flat back earrings which I knew I could leave in without needing to change, a bonus for this blind girl! The guy at the counter (I think his name was Pete?) could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I was super impressed. (But wait! It gets better!) Enter Caroline, piercer extraordinaire. She asks which jewelry I want and I tell her. She says with my low vision, she’d recommend another style. I appreciated her honesty and went with her selection. She inserts the jewelry with no issues or discomfort. She’s warm and friendly and just a whole vibe. I feel like we’ve been friends for longer than five whole minutes. I feel brave and ask if she can do my second lobe piercing. She says she has time — let’s do it! She changes her gloves again “I’m all about cleanliness!” and meticulously marks my ears, tries to show me (I can’t see it, but I trust her!) and asks if I want to know what she’s going to do before she does it. I pause and say “just do it.” She sensed my hesitation and said she was going to walk me through it. (Spoiler alert: It didn’t hurt at all!) Afterwards, I got detailed aftercare instructions verbally which I appreciate because the sheet they handed me is for my sighted partner. I already want more piercings and as long as Caroline is there, I know I’m in good hands. If you need an ear piercing, go see Caroline.

  Janna was exceptional! She was patient, efficient, and did such a good job with placing my piercings. Overall, a really positive experience! Would recommend

  Gabby was very nice and thoughtful with my 3rd lobe piercing. My last one had turned out uneven so she did a good job of providing some symmetry! Thanks again!

  They are so kind and have great customer service! I had a wonderful experience at this Rowan. When my second piercing closed up a few months later because I had accidentally taken them out and thought I could just put them back in but I couldn’t - I went in and they had a way to not have to totally repierce it. They also gave me new posts for free. I had left my original earrings there the previous day and they kept them overnight to sanitize them. Seriously cannot say enough good things.
