- AGAmber GarciaSep 20, 20231.0I arrived at Great Clips this morning with my 4.5 year old son and was greeted by Carmen. Very cold and not friendly right off the bat. Starts to sign me in and says "the haircut is for you?" I stated it was for my son. She makes a face and asks how old he is. Then replies conveniently that they don't typically cut hair for children under 5 and "she will try" Interestingly enough my other children have had their hair cut at great clips countless time, and the website itself not only shows infants but referencing getting your first haircut at great clips. Seconds into the chair, she begins to put the cloak on my son and he says it tickles. She immediately goes firm body with annoyance. I talk to him briefly and she proceeds. She then takes out the clipper and turns it on. My son raises his shoulders and says is it gonna tickle.? Carmen immediately says "no, Icant do this he's too young and starts to take the cloak off" Mind you he has had haircuts every two months since he has been one year old at countless places. I only chose this place because it was in passing and tomorrow is picture day. I thought great! After paying for parking and being met with such unprofessional and rudeness is appalling. Don't work at a place that offers kids haircuts if you yourself can not do it. Perhaps try to be warmer to customers, and maybe a child would feel safer in your space? If a grown up can feel your rigid personality, amplify that with a child. How gross. I won't be wasting my time at any great clips in the future.

No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
