I'm assuming by 'Rooms' you mean bedrooms for which I have no personal experience as the Bedroom i recently purchased was for my Guests. My own experience is (a) in relation to service at bfast which has been a significant improvement over some of the staff operating pre DL. I usually sit at tables 5, 6 or 7 where I can enquire on 'progress' which works well for me & your staff & I believe I've only missed 3or4 bfast since May2nd. SERVICE IS 5* (b) I've staged, so far 2 Swimmers bfast groups on tables 1-4 for around 8 folk. Again, pre planned, the tables are reserved and its great fun though hard work for the staff. It could be way less stressful if we were able to order a cafetiere of coffee which Wwds used to accommodate pre DL (c) So far I've also staged 2 annual parties 2025 for 24 & 2026 for 30 (with 5 absent). This year's party jointly ordered by myself & delivered by Lisa, Matt & Holly + 2 chefs for the evening (of food pre-ordered) could not have been better. Everyone in attendance had a relaxed 3hr experience prepared & delivered by said staff on the night in a manner befitting its beautiful setting. Thank you so much.

Really disappointed with the ongoing maintenance standards at David Lloyd Wickwoods. For a premium club, the basics are out of order far too frequently. The toilets and showers are closed off way too often - to the point where members can't even use the loo - and the AC in the female changing room has been broken for ages, making it stifling after a workout. What makes it worse is the lack of transparency. They got rid of the public Facebook page and moved everything to an internal newsfeed on the app. Whenever members post reasonable questions about facility closures or ask about partial refunds for missing amenities, the comments are simply deleted, even when completely appropriately worded. For the premium price, silencing valid feedback instead of fixing basic facilities is really poor form.

Absolutely love Wickwoods. It has everything you’d expect from a David Lloyd club, but what really sets it apart is the people. Jane and the entire team do an amazing job of looking after the members. There’s a genuine warmth about the place, you’re always made to feel welcome, people know your name, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. The facilities are fantastic, but it’s the atmosphere and the team that make you actually want to spend time there. Whether I’m training, playing sport, relaxing by the pool or just grabbing a coffee, it always feels like a great place to be. A huge thank you to Jane and all the staff for the energy and effort they put into making Wickwoods such a brilliant club. 👏 P.s - Jane 🙂

I’ve been a member of Wickwoods for over a year now and have always really enjoyed it. The setting is beautiful, tucked away in the countryside, and the gym is really well equipped with high-quality equipment. I tend to go early to avoid the busier periods, which I think you’ll find with most gyms! There’s a great variety of facilities available, although personally I don’t make use of them as much as I probably should. The spa is also lovely, and for what I personally use Wickwoods for, I think the membership offers good value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful, particularly Lois, who is always on hand if I need anything. She genuinely goes above and beyond for members, and I know from speaking to others that I’m definitely not the only one who thinks so. Overall, a lovely club in a beautiful setting and somewhere I’ve really enjoyed being a member.

Wickwoods review Before anything is said I want to mention that I had no trouble with the staff as they did an excellent job keeping the facilities and whole area clean and were very friendly and cheerful. Also, the spa was lovely and rejuvenating, and I really enjoyed the amethyst steam room and cold plunge pool. The overall atmosphere of the gym and spa itself was very calm and quiet which is great when trying to focus, relax, and unwind. We also had breakfast for 2 days and a dinner for 1 of them and they were lovely and our server Cameron was really friendly. My main issue is with the facilities and hotel room itself (We stayed here as guests for a couple of nights for my partner's birthday) as I feel that they spend their budget on certain things to make it seem all fancy and that you get a lot for your money but overall I feel like it’s not worth what you pay for because of certain things that feel neglected. The area in which the hotel rooms are located is practically in another world as you walk up a small flight of stairs into something out of the back rooms and it doesn’t feel like the budget or name live up to the hype. The hotel room is very outdated and the electrics in the room were poorly done and rough as anything, one of the lights in the bathroom doesn’t work and the bathroom mirror light was on permanently. Cables in trunking on the wall for the TV that had just been thrown up the wall and was falling off. A very loud AC unit that looked as if it was about to jump off the ledge it was on. The walls of the hotel room itself are paper thin and you can hear the people in the rooms next door and down the corridor practically breathing and coughing. Outside of the lobby in the car park area the smell of sewage was so strong it could be smelled well before reaching the club area and there appeared to be what looked like wastewater running towards the grass field next to the road which doesn’t seem right at all. Because of this I would say it’s not worth paying the money they’re asking for a membership as it seems that you are mostly “paying for the brand” and the ability to say that you are a member of a fancy gym. If you’re looking for a place to go to the gym on the regular then this isn’t the place for you for what you have to pay. However, if you want a nice small calm retreat with spa treatment with the ability to do a workout on the side then it’s somewhat justified. This company clearly invests heavily in creating the appearance and atmosphere of a premium gym, but I feel that some of the more basic aspects of the building and accommodation have been neglected. For the prices being charged, I would expect a similar standard of upkeep throughout the entire facility, including the hotel rooms. In the gym itself, the machines are nice to use and are very clean. The thing that makes it not very nice is the people who treat it as if they are at home. For example, people shaving/brushing their teeth in the sinks of the changing room. Leaving the sinks full of hair and toothpaste. I think this shouldn’t be allowed and it’s not what people come to see when they use the gym. I know this isn’t to do with the Wickwoods itself but still feel that this should be monitored. Also in the gym, the AC wasn’t working, which obviously isn’t ideal. We heard multiple people complaining about the fact it wasn’t working, which made us wonder how long it had been out of service and when it would be repaired. Overall I would give the establishment 3/5. The staff, cleanliness, spa and food were all excellent, but the condition of the hotel room, the maintenance issues and the AC not working in the gym significantly affected our experience. I feel that the management could do more to ensure that the standard of the accommodation and facilities matches the premium price being charged.
