  WOW, the Synaesthesia experience was like no other spa trip I’ve ever had (and I’m someone who likes to get their back kneaded almost as regularly as the bread dough in a best-selling bakery). It was magical; enchanting; and at times almost like an immersive theatre performance in the most delightful of ways. The whole thing takes place in a secret, serene, underground woodlands cabin-eque space you’d never know was hidden beneath bustling Oxford Street. Super-easy to get to and from via public transport, as geographically, it’s slap bang in the middle of London…but atmospherically, it feels like you’re in a luxe fairy forest. My therapist Candela invited me to select a word from a blackboard that would inform the emotional tone of the treatment. I opted for “Mischief”, as it seemed the most unusual. I was intrigued to see how ideas of playfulness and impishness would be translated into a massage. Next, I had to pick out a bottle of scent from a tray of multi-coloured apothecary bottles, but *without smelling it* – I was supposed to be drawn by instinct alone. The mischief had started already! Inside the treatment room itself, which was theatrically lit with soft pink and green lamps, Candela decanted a few drops from my chosen vial into a flask. Clouds of delicious blackcurrant-perfumed smoke bubbled out, and I felt like I was in a wizard’s emporium! A Mischief bath bomb was placed in a clever mini tub under the cosily heated massage table, releasing yet more smoke and delicious scent to rise up around me. The massage began on my scalp, then moved to my face, where Candela used not only hot stones, but also icy cold ones. More unexpected mischief! The temperature changes felt amazing: they invigorated my senses, and as someone whose mind can sometimes wander to unhelpfully stressful places during rituals that are supposed to help me unwind, I found the switch-up in sensations really helped me feel present. While I was being blissfully stroked and soothed, a soundtrack featuring birdsong, far-off church bells and folksy music played, transporting me to a countryside village. As the 80 minutes progressed, the soundscape moved through orchestral tracks, to storm sounds, to a sonic vision of nature at night. It felt like time was moving differently; as though I’d been sweetly cocooned in the Lush Spa through sunsets and sunrises. If, like me, you enjoy ASMR, this will seriously float your boat. Lush Spa: I give you five exceptionally twinkly, shooting stars.

  I am a big Lush Spa fan and this place always continues to impress and surprise me! I had a wonderful experience with Candela and would highly recommend her. I had both the Validation Facial and Synaesthesia. I really needed some nourishment and relaxation today, and both treatments really delivered. Candela was warm, attentive and professional throughout, and made the whole experience feel calm and personal. I left feeling relaxed, pampered and very happy. Thanks Lush!

  Extremely disappointing experience — 1 star is honestly too much. The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. Instead of trying to help or resolve the situation, they actually came outside the store to argue with us and eventually told us to leave. What made it even worse was the manager. Even the manager seemed completely unable to control the staff or handle the situation professionally. There was absolutely no proper customer service or attempt to resolve the issue. We were so disappointed by the way we were treated that we returned everything we had purchased and left. I have never experienced this level of disrespect from a store before. Very disappointing experience, especially from a well-known brand like Lush. I definitely would not recommend this branch.

  My first visit to the Lush Spa was an absolutely amazing experience. Candela was incredibly informative, and her hands truly worked magic, melting away all my stress and leaving me feeling completely revived. She made the entire treatment feel so special. The receptionist was equally wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. She had already sold me on the experience before I even stepped into the treatment room, and the spa exceeded every expectation. I absolutely loved every moment and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

  Thank you, Shamma! I had the Full Hour spa treatment, a full body massage. I was welcomed by your two lovely receptionists, who had a sign waiting for my arrival, and instantly helped me relax. We giggled whilst they ensured my every need was met - serving me fruit infused water and reassuring me about my treatment. My masseuse guided me through the treatment, patiently explaining each available product and demonstrating the procedure - like the bathbomb included and allowing me to smell each option of massage bar. I came in with a tightly knotted back, neck and shoulders; I almost cried when she told me the massage came to a close... Because as I sat up, I could move my neck for the first time in days. She completely solved my pain and gave me above and beyond what I wanted and needed. It was a beautiful experience well worth the money, and I shall certainly be returning. Thank you to the manager, Ellie, for guiding my on which treatment would work the best - you are so kind, informative and helpful. Well done to the whole team, I felt like a princess (or mermaid, rather!)
