  First timer - Saw Great Clips via Tik Tok and thought to give them a try for my pixie cut upkeep. Happy that I did was able to use a $12.99 coupon I founded online and checked in with Anyjah. Elated to have her cut my pixie! Will continue to come every two weeks. She was experienced and knew exactly what I wanted!   I’ve been to this location a few times with no issues. I went Sunday 3/29 and got a technician I’ve never met before, I can’t remember her name but she was a blonde woman. Anyway, she was great and patient and gentle cutting my son’s hair and this is the only reason I left 2 stars. But then when it came to my hair, I showed her a picture, but she heard the words “wolf cut” “mullet” and went off the rails. She used a buzzer when the ask clearly was for a scissor cut, and when I questioned her on it she was like trust me. Okay you are the expert I’ll defer to you. I told her I wanted it choppy and layered like the picture, but she gave me the most one dimensional and straight cut I’ve ever witnessed in my life. I’ve had less than stellar hair cuts before, but I’ve never been traumatized by a hair cut like this. It’s purely awful. I want to wear a paper bag. If she weren’t comfortable with the style, I absolutely would have preferred she say “you know what this isn’t something I typically do” and I would have been like okay the let’s just clean up what’s there. as the cherry on the cake, I had my glasses off the whole time so I couldn’t see what a disaster she was creating until the end, and when she asked whether i liked it, I realized that if she thought THIS was the vision, then I absolutely didn’t trust her to touch one more strand of hair. She butchered my hair and now I’m considering going somewhere to get a wig or extensions or something so I don’t die of embarrassment for 2 months as my hair grows back. Adding the reference pic and the bangs I ended up with. Straight as can be. Zero texture, zero dimension, not a single point cut. Oh my god I’ll never get my hair cut here again

  This was my first time visiting Great Clips, and unfortunately it will be my last. Before my service began, I was clearly told that paying for the “styling” option included the use of a flat iron or curling iron. I agreed and explained that curls were exactly what I wanted. After the stylist finished, she asked if I was satisfied. I politely expressed that I was not, because there were no curls in my hair at all, despite her using a curling iron. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, she told me that they “don’t have the materials that we use” and that “the temperature doesn’t get that hot.” I asked for clarification and said, “We as in Black people?” Her response was “Yes.” I then asked, “So you’re telling me you don’t have the necessities to do Black people’s hair?” Her response again was “Yes, this is all I have.” That statement alone is discriminatory and unacceptable. If a business chooses to service the public—while using Black people in its commercials—it should also have the proper tools, training, and professionalism to work with all hair types, not just some. She removed the styling charge, which further confirms that the service was not properly delivered, yet she proceeded to have an attitude with me afterward. Additionally, while sitting in the chair for an extended period of time, I noticed that the stylist’s cosmetology license was expired (3/31/2024), which raises serious concerns about compliance and professionalism. This experience made me feel singled out, disrespected, and discriminated against. Businesses must do better when it comes to inclusivity, proper training, and accountability.
