I went up front to ask for assistance, and Alexandra was rude. I asked how she was doing and she didn’t respond but instead told me to put in my number for rewards. I asked her for assistance on purchasing perfume, and her response was “the old lady over there will help you”. Which I thought was extremely rude to say about her coworker. Alexandra wasn’t doing anything and shooed me away. I went to Melissa (the “old lady” in question) and she was very helpful and kind. I ended up getting three perfumes from her. If it wasn’t for Melissa, I would have left empty handed!

had such an amazing experience at the Perimeter location! Brie was incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I’m basically trying makeup for the first time, and she made me feel so comfortable and confident throughout the whole process. She took the time to explain products, shades, and application tips without making me feel overwhelmed.
Brie truly went above and beyond, and because of her, I left feeling excited about makeup instead of intimidated. Thank you so much for the great experience! 💄✨

I had a concerning in store experience after purchasing a concealer that turned out to be empty when I first used it a few days later. I returned within a week, not seeking a refund, only an exchange. The store manager declined to assist. Instead she advised me to call customer service myself, explaining that the item could not be returned because it had been used, while also saying she could not confirm whether the specific product I purchased from that same store may have been previously returned or restocked. She kept reiterating that she was not sure ... In a cosmetics environment, that uncertainty around product handling and hygiene should have prompted caution and resolution, not dismissal. I’m a loyal customer with no history of excessive returns, which made the manager’s unwillingness to explore a solution especially off-putting. Rather than applying discretion or escalating the concern, the manager remained unwilling to help despite acknowledging uncertainty. That alone reflects a need for additional training in decision making and customer care. Sephora customer service later resolved the issue promptly by replacing the product at no cost, which I appreciate. Still, the in-store handling highlighted a gap in managerial judgment that I hope will be addressed. I am awaiting a call from corporate and will be escalating my concerns about hygiene and the deplorable customer service.

Great selection, nice and bright store that's easier to navigate than some other locations.
HOWEVER, I walked out without purchasing anything. There was a mixed race, presumably Latina woman following me around the store. She was wearing a cap, denim jacket and pants, and carried no bags.
I had my purse and a bag from another store not far from this Sephora. I usually buy my cosmetics online, but I like to pop into a brick-and-mortar every now and then, to see what's new and swatch products I'm interested in.
I was interested in trying something from Hung Vanngo and Pat McGrath. I want a balanced eyeshadow palette that shows up well on my deep skin. I was having fun swatching, but noticed that with every turn I made, that woman kept following me. Annoyed, I left both displays and began walking to other displays, around to the make-up booths, perfumes...and she was still trailing me.
When she noticed I was watching her, she began to act like she was looking at a display. When I stopped in my tracks, she haphazardly asked a rep for the price on one of the products....a product that she wasn't even looking at. Once I kept walking, SHE KEPT FOLLOWING ME.
I had enough at that point. I left the store without purchasing anything. I've never had an issue at other Sephora stores, and I am always nice to the sales reps; I've worked in retail before and know how draining it can be. Whenever I visit, I purchase at least 2-3 products, some of which are brand new to my regimen. I love trying new products, new colors, new formulations. But to be followed as if I am a petty thief when I've been a customer for nearly a DECADE is unacceptable.
I strongly believed I was racially profiled. It is not uncommon for shoppers to come in with bags...we are at a shopping mall for goodness sake. I had absolutely no issue at any other store I visited at the mall—why was Sephora the only one to give me a hard time? The only one to treat me like a criminal? Judging from recent controversy, it seems I am unfortunately one of many black women who have been profiled at Sephora. NEWSFLASH: not every black woman is a thief—it's absurd to say this sentence, let alone needing it to be said at all. To that woman who followed me, loss prevention can and should be done without bias. I hope you exude that same fastidiousness when observing other demographics, but something tells me you don't.
That interaction ruined my day of shopping and I left the mall shortly after. The experience and the embarrassment it caused has stuck with me. It's incidents like these that motivate me to purchase directly from the brand rather than the middleman—I will certainly do more of this going forward.
