But this week I got a text message offering 50% off of all services and my teenage daughter wanted a new haircut during winter break before she went back to school, so I went online and checked the prices- thinking I’m going to be paying half of of a wash/cut/blowdry (which is around 40-45$ regular price). I called and asked about the text and they offered to get her in for the next morning. The appointment went great- stylist took my daughter back, listened to what she wanted and delivered it beautifully. Then when it’s time to pay she says I owe 86$. I am trying not to cry because I thought I was going to be around 25-30$ before tip, and for the second time this salon has up-charged my child’s service without discussing any of it with me prior to doing it. She said the reason why it would be 86 is because she has long hair. When I brought up the50% text message, she gave me an attitude and said that I needed to tell them if I had a text/coupon (which I did when I called) and I ended up paying 45$ anyway. This is extremely predatory behavior, and if we wanted to do an 80$ cut we would take her to a high end salon. I can say with assurance now that we will actually never be back after this.
