    Why do I come to Sephora when I could easily order everything online? Because sometimes you need real help and professional advice. I already have too many foundations sitting on my shelf that turned out too yellow or simply didn’t match my skin tone. When you come to the store asking for help, it usually means you truly need guidance. I recently visited the Sephora at Tampa International Plaza to find a new foundation match. As women, we’re always looking for something new to try. At first, I spoke with James, who told me he could only help me pick one product because he was very busy. I completely understand that everyone has busy moments, but it made me feel a little like a second-class customer. So I went to the manager, Angelica — and she truly is an angel. Angelica, together with Tais, took the time to help me with everything I needed. They were patient, kind, and genuinely focused on helping me find the right match. Angelica, Tais, and Cait are now my favorites! Thank you so much for making the experience so positive. And just to be clear — I’m not offended by James at all. We all have good days and bad days. But I highly recommend Angelica and her team. That’s the place where you feel valued, where you feel that they’re not just trying to sell you something — they truly want to help. That’s exactly why I love Sephora ❤️

    Sorry for the long post, but when someone goes above and beyond, it’s worth noting! I went to this Sephora on Sunday, 03/08/26, with a set list of 8-ish skincare products that I wanted to buy. I’d done some in-depth “research” (important note for later) a few nights before, and almost bought everything online. My best friend and I decided to make a day of shopping though, so I decided to just get everything in-store. Just as other reviews note, it’s a VERY congested store. Also just like other reviewers, it can be quite overstimulating. That being said, I stopped an employee for a quick question, and since she was walking back to help another client, she helped flag down another employee named Hope. That’s who this review is for, Hope. I was honest with her, off rip, and told her I’d used Chat GPT (ew - I know) to help me identify the most beneficial and cost effective products to help me achieve my skin care goals. AI can definitely be a helpful tool in many cases; however, cases regarding health, things we put into/onto our body, I personally believe AI recommendations should be taken with a grain of salt. So that’s the mentality I had when starting my convo with Hope. When I was telling her about my “research”, not once did I feel judged or looked down on for taking advice from the internet. She was just actively listening, and that made me feel like she truly wanted to help me find what would work for my skin. As I started listing what I had in my basket and what I was still looking for, she asked what I was hoping to achieve overall and with each product. Again, I felt confident in my list, and I confidently told her. When I told her the next AI-recommended product I was looking for (a generic, drugstore face wash), she gave me the most instinctive reaction which was, “NO!” And you could definitely tell even she was shocked that it came out so bluntly, which honestly made her that much more relatable and genuine! She then went into why that product wouldn’t help me and recommended a few alternatives. She told me about both the luxe and more cost effective options to make sure I was making an informed choice. Even with that simple move, I felt like I could trust her recs. She ended up apologizing for reacting like she did, and I essentially told her that I LOVED that she didn’t hold back! It just gave this sense of realness and passion she had, and, as a customer, it can be hard to find a salesperson/staff member that you can feel comfortable with, so quickly. I think you can tell when people genuinely care about their craft/career, and I make sure to listen to them. Hope spent about 30 minutes with me, answered every single one of my questions, never got annoyed or dismissive, and she even helped my friend with her questions. She even steered me away from products that weren’t necessary when she could have easily upsold me. I sound like a broken record, but it’s SO refreshing to find someone that you feel genuinely has your best interest in mind. Employees like Hope will turn a casual customer into a consistent customer. As a recap, I was already slightly overstimulated when navigating through the store. I had my mind set on products I wanted to buy, and I thought I “knew it all.” Hope went out of her way to listen to me, to relate to me, to encourage me, and to educate me. Hope made me feel like she wanted to help me as a person, not as a customer, and that kind of team member is completely invaluable and irreplaceable to a brand. As a last note: I’m starting her recommended skin care routine today, 03/09/26, and I’ll compare the “before and after” pictures about a month from now. I’m looking forward to seeing the difference!

    I have done my absolute best to avoid writing this review because I was once a Sephora staffer and honestly I hate giving bad reviews but after 5 bad experiences, I have to draw the line. Every single time I go to this specific Sephora, it's a fresh hell. This is the worst Sephora experience and I've been sephoras all over the world. This most recent trip, I had a basket full of items (at last 8) and the cashier only rang up 4 items. Assuming, as any normal person would, that she took everything out of the basket I handed her, I went home. Imagine how infuriating when I didn't have my blush for my event, or my other items. Anyway, on past trips I've almost always had rude staff and dismissive staff. I did have a very enriching experience with an esthetician Alex, but they were rare in the midst of a dumpster fire. On top of all that, it's always deeply congested in the store, and while some of the staff is helpful, others will literally avoid you. The line moves sooo slow. I will tell you: go to LITERALLY any other Sephora in the area if you want a GOOD experience. The best thing about this place is that there are other stores in this mall actually worth going to. Don't shop here if you can avoid it. I really hope yall get it together.

    I went in looking for help with trying a new foundation and Hope was the best sales associate I’ve ever had the pleasure of receiving help from, she took her time with me, gave me honest but not critical feedback and really helped tailor a routine to me. I immediately went home and tried my new products and her recommendations have gave me a new found confidence in my makeup routine. Will 100% be coming back and asking for her help for any make up inquiries 😊😊
