  My experience with this JCPennys Salon has been terrible. Every time I have booked an appointment it has never worked out. The management is terrible. The first time I booked the manager called me and asked if she could reschedule me for another day, I said sure, my event being on the next weekend and I walked in Sunday morning, mind you this was during FAMU homecoming week, no was there long enough to stay that day to do my hair so I booked next day Monday after work and they called to change me to Wednesday after work 3pm foe me to show up and the manager said she didn't have time to do my hair. No one put on the paper what I wanted done and she couldn't do it all cause she had to leave work early. Oh did I mention she was 30 mins late. So I didn't get my hair done for my event. Then I had another event this past weekend and I made another appointment for Friday and I got there and the stylist wasn't there. She left for an emergency. I understand about emergency had plenty myself, but no call, no heads up, I show up and she's gone. So, another stylist said she could do my hair to come back in an hour in a half. So I got my nails done next door and at the time I was to show for my hair appointment I needed 5 more mins to complete my nails so I called to confirm and they said no problem. Went to my appointment, got half way into doing my hair and as I was getting shampooed the stylist tells me they close at 7pm and she can't finish my hair. I'm not making this up. I got what I could and finished my hair at home. Yes, I was charged for full service that I didn't receive.

  I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a silk press I received shortly before Christmas with Eunice. Unfortunately, my hair has sustained significant heat damage, which has permanently altered my curl pattern. This is deeply upsetting and unacceptable, as I trusted this salon to provide professional and skilled care for my hair. While Eunice was pleasant, I feel her skills in working with type 4 hair were inadequate. I would urge the salon to prioritize proper training for stylists to ensure they are equipped to handle all hair types professionally. Additionally, I recommend maintaining focus on the service being provided rather than unrelated personal or work-related conversations during appointments, as this can detract from the client’s experience. This experience has negatively impacted my self-esteem, and I hope the salon will take corrective measures to prevent this from happening to others in the future. Thank you for your time and attention.

  Lindsey fue muy profesional y amable, hizo realmente lo que le dije que quería, fue muy paciente con mi mal inglés, Latoya muy amable también y pude ver que hizo buen trabajo a otra cliente, buenos precios.

  Update: the vibes are completely off. I came in for a hair appointment for deep conditioning and sort of root touch up. The lady who did my hair was ok, but the manager?! Completely gave off the vibes of how dare I be there? She was constantly looking over at us, the lady ask if I wanted to style it, I said you can just do two French braids, nothing fancy I’m getting a protective style after this. The manager jumped from the wash bowl of the hair see was doing to say “if you want that that will cost you extra.” The girl doing my hair and looked down at me and rolled her eyes and ask if I heard that. It wasn’t a good experience, find somewhere to go. It’s gone truly downhill since Jaz left.

  I was in Tallahassee for a few weeks for work and wanted to get my hair straightened. I hadn’t combed my hair in a few days and as a natural woman I didn’t have the patience to de tangle my hair so I put I off on someone else. I remembered from my college days that JCPenny had a salon and was decently priced so I made a same day appointment. My stylist was Talasia (I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong) and she was AMAZE! When she asked me if she could take pics because she was building her portfolio I got nervous thinking “oh God, I have a newbie and she is got to murder my hair” but boy oh boy was I wrong. I’m tender headed but I couldn’t barely even feel her hands in my hair. She was so gentle and meticulous. She explained every thing she was putting in my hair, ASKED if she can clip what was her recommended amount off my ends and SHOWED me just how much that recommended amount was. I’m not one to try to retain my length at the expense of my hairs health so I didn’t mind but she was not scissor happy. She cut what she told me she would. This was my first silk press experience and I couldn’t be more satisfied. My hair feels SO SOFT. I’m not exaggerating when I say it really does feel like silk! This isn’t some high end looking salon but the service I received was great. Im not sure about their cutting and styling capabilities but for what I received I am happy.
