Easy getting an appointment. Plus my hairstylist Barbara Owens was amazing she took great care of me and my curls look super amazing. I would definitely recommend her especially if you are looking for someone to give you beautiful curls.

It's hard to coordinate hours with my regular stylist, I was about 2 months over due for a cut and have a vacation planned in October which would allow enough time for a new cut to not look like a new cut, so I decided to try the salon in JC Penney. I had gone there years ago and never had a problem so I figured it was safe. I could just cry every time I look in the mirror now. I have fine hair with natural curl that I love and a few unruly cowlicks so I wear my hair a little shorter than shoulder length, layered and messy and it works. Just big waves and soft curls mostly. During the cut the stylist used thinning shears. No one has used thinning shears on me since I was a kid and now I know why.... THEY TAKE AWAY THE CURLS! My curls are GONE!!!! COMPLETELY!!!! My hair is longer up next to my face, shorter over the ears, longer in the back and totally flat! I look like a 7 year old from the 70's with a mullet.... Another $50 to get this mess fixed and sadly the only answer is going to be a super short cut! I guess I'll just have short hair instead of my wonderful, sloppy curls on vacation. I'm just sick....

The only “stylist” that has any idea what they are doing is the young girl Hailey. My daughters hair was absolutely butchered by an obviously new associate, she panicked and asked another girl for help and even said “I can’t do this” the bigger girl with blue hair tried to fix it but actually made it worse and finally Hailey came over and told my child I can’t let you leave like that and tried to damage control what the other two “stylists” destroyed. She did the best she could but there was no saving an absolutely butchered job almost like a front mullet on a teenager that started with long blonde hair. We are now going to go to a real professional salon to fix what these J.C. Penney employees ruined. Hailey should be commended for trying and being professional and trying to save the day. She should be working at a different higher end salon though one that doesn’t butcher people’s hair.

1st photo is my hair. Flat and plain. The rest are all examples of what layers should look like.
I haven’t had my hair cut in 2 years. I’m a college student and was super excited for the $12 student hair cut deal. I called in advance to make sure that layers could be part of the hair cut. They said yes. I was able to walk in and got seen right away, which was great. However, when the stylist was done giving me “layers”, it looked like nothing had been done to my hair at all. I could have done what she did myself. I showed her an example of layers and she said she doesn’t know how to do them… That she could watch videos on it. I told her not to worry about it… I didn’t want to be a test dummy for something she didn’t know how to do. Although I thought layers were a very basic skill. I paid my money, even tipped her (despite not doing what I wanted), and left. I wanted to cry. I went in so excited and came out so disappointed. I’ve never gotten my hair cut and not noticed any difference. I’ve never gotten layers and not actually received ANY layers. Just another reason to not even bother to get my hair cut. It’s just a waste of money.
