I’ve been shopping at the SalonCentric on East Colonial Drive for years. This location used to be exceptional because of Margaret, Marianne, and Rose. They were helpful, friendly, customer-focused, and they always made stylists feel valued. Even when busy, they never ignored customers — they would multitask without making anyone feel like a burden.
Today, the experience is the complete opposite.
When you walk in, you get a quick “welcome in,” but it sounds like it’s being said out of obligation. After that, it’s as if you’re invisible. The person at the counter stays on the phone talking about holiday offers, doesn’t hand out the promotional book, doesn’t help you find anything, doesn’t provide information, and doesn’t even pause the call to acknowledge the customer standing right in front of her. She simply scans your ID, scans your products, continues her phone conversation, and rings you up — no service, no engagement, no professionalism.
This decline is especially frustrating considering I applied for a position at this location. L’Oréal sent me a rejection email stating:
“After careful consideration of your application and the feedback we received, we regret to inform you that we will not be progressing with your application.”
Feedback from who?
I have never worked for L’Oréal. So what “feedback” are they referring to — and how could it be so negative that it prevented me from joining their team?
Especially when I am confident I could do a much better job than what I see happening in the store today.
At this point, I would rather drive to another SalonCentric location — even if it’s farther — than walk a few steps from my studio to this one. That says everything.
Thanks, L’Oréal. Thanks, SalonCentric.
You lost a loyal customer because you replaced excellent, customer-focused staff with someone who treats us like an inconvenience.
This store used to be great.
